- **What is the best sweetener?**
*Many nutritionists recommend sweeteners as a healthy, low-calorie, and safe alternative to sugar. But are they really that useful?*
`Despite the fact that earlier sweeteners were recommended only as part of a specialized diet for diabetics, today almost everyone knows and uses them. The trend towards a healthy lifestyle has played a significant role.`
***7 popular sweeteners***
All sweeteners can be divided into two large groups.
Natural - these include fructose, xylitol, sorbitol. They have a calorie content comparable to regular sugar and are involved in metabolic processes.
Artificial (obtained from natural or synthetic raw materials by a chemical method) - sucralose, aspartame, cyclamate, stevioside. Unlike natural ones, they have a more intense sweetening effect, have no calorie content and are not integrated into metabolic processes. However, recent studies by Australian scientists prove that synthetic sweeteners increase appetite many times over and can lead to overeating and gaining extra pounds!
**1. Fructose**
Natural carbohydrate, has no aftertaste, found in fruits, berries, vegetables. For a long time, fructose was prescribed to diabetics. Over time, it was found that in the process of metabolism, fructose is still modified into glucose. Therefore, it cannot be a healthy alternative. Fructose is produced in the form of powder, tablets, added to confectionery, muesli bars, jam, sweets.
Benefits: Most beneficial in its natural form, not as a supplement.
Harm: Excessive consumption, more than 20% of the recommended daily allowance, can lead to the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases.
**2. Xylitol**
It is obtained in a fairly simple way, which leads to its low cost. The main raw materials from which xylitol is isolated are corn cobs, birch bark, and cotton.
Benefit: Xylitol is less damaging to tooth enamel than glucose, so it is often added to chewing gum.
Harm: May provoke an attack of diarrhea.
**3. Sorbitol**
One of the most "ancient" sweeteners. It was synthesized in 1868 from rowan berries.
Benefits: Stimulates the bowels and reduces the manifestations of the inflammatory process in the liver.
Harm: high-calorie, often "hidden" in semi-finished products (E420), especially in meat.
**4. Sucralose**
An intense sweetener developed by English chemists in 1976.
Produced, like many other sweeteners, in the form of tablets. Also used in drinks, yoghurts, soy sauce (E955).
Benefit: does not penetrate the placental barrier, more than 85% is excreted unchanged from the body.
Harm: when heated, it decomposes to form chloropropanol. This substance can lead to disruption of the endocrine system and is a mutagen.
**5. Aspartame**
One of the most criticized sweeteners today. It can cause a number of unwanted reactions: from dizziness and nausea to allergies.
Harm: during heat treatment, it decomposes, which leads to the formation of substances toxic to the body - methanol and formaldehyde. It has been proven that aspartame can lead to carcinogenesis.
**6. Sodium cyclamate**
One of the most popular sweeteners in Russia. It has been banned in the United States since 1969, as a number of animal studies have shown that it provokes cancer. Often added to carbonated drinks (E952).
Benefit: cyclamate is resistant to thermal effects, which means it can be used for cooking hot dishes and canning.
Harm: causes allergic reactions - hives, redness and itching of the skin.
**7. Stevioside**
Unlike fructose, stevioside, a substance derived from the stevia plant, is now actively and successfully used in complex programs for the treatment of both types of diabetes and obesity.
Benefits: Available in the form of tablets, powder. Has zero calories.
Harm: changes the taste of tea and coffee.
*Thus, based on the above, you can rationally evaluate the pros and cons of each sugar substitute and decide whether to use them.*

- ***Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome***
Friends, while reading the topic discussing the topic of Cold, some of you expressed concern about the health of the stress arc.
Let's take it in order:
• What is "Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome (AFG)"?
This is a group of symptoms, such as lethargy, apathy, irritability, weight gain, etc., caused by a common cause — a systemic decrease in the release of hormones by the adrenal cortex.
• What are the causes of this syndrome?
Conditionally — exceeding the limits of incoming stress, which the body is able to "digest" without harm to itself.
Everything seems to sound logical.
Hyperstimulation of the gland → degradation of the gland.
But there are several points that call AFG into question:
1. There is no reliable physiological method for detecting this syndrome.
Urinalysis for cortisol and metanephrine with a high probability of serious abnormalities in the concentrations of glucocorticoids will not reveal.
2. The main set of AFG symptoms is too general and vague.
They can be caused by a wide range of pathologies that have arisen against a background of high stress. In this, AFG is very similar to the combined hodgepodge of "Vegetative vascular dystonia".
3. And finally, in a systematic review of 2016, on the basis of 3470 materials, we came to the conclusion, quote: "... there is no evidence that "adrenal fatigue" is a real disease."
Nevertheless, stress is an objective cause of the occurrence and progression of many sores.
And its chronic form is much more dangerous.
Cold procedures are certainly stressful, but insufficient in a healthy framework for the destruction of the body. And the physical stress received from cold procedures can reduce the overall level of emotional stress for the body.

- ***Easy dopamine & Dopamine detox***
Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that is released in the brain in response to pleasurable stimuli, such as eating delicious food, listening to music, or engaging in sexual activity. These activities are known to be "easy dopamine" sources because they provide quick and easy gratification.
However, relying too heavily on easy dopamine sources can lead to a desensitization of the brain's reward system, which can result in a decrease in motivation and the ability to experience pleasure from other activities. This is why dopamine detoxes are becoming more popular, as people seek to reset their brain's reward system and improve their ability to experience pleasure from a variety of activities.
The concept of dopamine detox is to take a break from activities that release dopamine, such as social media, video games, television, and other forms of digital entertainment. The goal is to disconnect from these sources of instant gratification and instead focus on activities that don't release dopamine, such as reading, meditating, or spending time in nature.
While some proponents of dopamine detox claim that it can have significant benefits, such as increased productivity and creativity, others are skeptical of its effectiveness. It is important to approach any lifestyle change or self-improvement effort with a critical and informed mindset, and to consult with a healthcare professional before making any significant changes to your routine.
Ultimately, the key to a healthy and balanced lifestyle is to find a balance between easy dopamine sources and more challenging or meaningful activities that also release dopamine. By engaging in a variety of activities and focusing on developing healthy habits and routines, it is possible to enjoy the benefits of dopamine while avoiding the negative effects of over-reliance on easy dopamine sources.

- ***Cold shower and Wim Hoff method: the benefits of cold exposure***
*`"Cold showers can help to regulate the autonomic nervous system, which controls functions such as heart rate and digestion. By practicing cold exposure, you can improve the balance of your nervous system and promote overall health and well-being." - Wim Hoff, founder of the Wim Hoff method.`*
Cold exposure, such as taking cold showers, has become increasingly popular in recent years thanks to the Wim Hoff method. This method, created by the "Iceman" Wim Hoff, involves exposure to cold temperatures to improve physical and mental health. But what are the benefits of cold exposure and the Wim Hoff method?
The benefits of cold exposure have been known for centuries. Ancient cultures such as the Greeks and Romans used cold water for therapeutic purposes. In modern times, cold exposure has been found to have numerous health benefits, including improved circulation, reduced inflammation, increased energy and alertness, and even weight loss.
The Wim Hoff method takes cold exposure to the next level, combining cold exposure with breathing exercises and meditation to create a powerful tool for health and well-being. By practicing the Wim Hoff method, individuals can improve their immune system, reduce stress, and boost their mood.
One of the main benefits of the Wim Hoff method is its ability to improve the immune system. Studies have shown that regular cold exposure can increase the production of white blood cells, which play a crucial role in fighting off infections and diseases. The method also helps to reduce inflammation in the body, which can lead to numerous health problems.
The Wim Hoff method is also effective at reducing stress and anxiety. By exposing oneself to cold temperatures and practicing breathing exercises and meditation, individuals can reduce the production of stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline, leading to a more relaxed and calm state of mind.
Finally, the Wim Hoff method can help to boost mood and increase energy levels. The combination of cold exposure, breathing exercises, and meditation helps to release endorphins and other feel-good hormones, leading to a sense of well-being and increased energy.
In conclusion, cold exposure and the Wim Hoff method have numerous benefits for physical and mental health. By practicing this method, individuals can improve their immune system, reduce stress and anxiety, and boost their mood and energy levels. So, why not take a cold shower today and give the Wim Hoff method a try? Your body and mind will thank you for it.
And at the end I would like to insert a quote from my favourite author:
**"Taking cold showers is a great way to start your day with a burst of energy and focus. It's also a natural and affordable way to improve your skin and hair health." - Tony Robbins, motivational speaker and author.**
