- By enabling any developer or team to build their own recommendation algorithm, the combination of easier to leverage AI primitives, open protocols, and immutable public data are paving the way for a more personalized and superior user experience (UX) for social applications.
With apps like Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram people are stuck with the given recommendation algorithm without any choices or options other than leave the platform if they don't like it.
For instance a lot of changes have happened with the Twitter recommendation algorithm. People have complained that they see a lot more clickbait, but the only other option is just the "Following" feed or to leave.
In theory, because web3 and blockchain data is public, developers and teams could build their own recommendation algorithms. I said "in theory" because in the past this was not really a thing as this type of system did not really exist before.
We're now starting to see some great alternative recommendation algorithms emerge and become available in the @LensProtocol ecosystem, and apps are already starting to pick them up!
Here are a few teams working on this from various angles (not inclusive of all teams):
1. Karma3Labs - Is a ranking and reputation infrastructure using the EigenTrust algorithm. It enables developers to curate a ranking and recommendation system for their apps based on on-chain data.
https://karma3labs.com
2. Whitebox from @kozlovchad - Is an open protocol to consume, develop and collaborate on modular, composable, and transparent algorithms, owned by the developers.
I think of this as something like an NPM for recommendation algorithms
https://whitebox.build
3. @madfinance - creating various recommendation algorithms like a suggested follows API + "For You" API and enabling optionally financial mechanisms allowing users to boost themselves
https://creators.madfinance.xyz
We have a handful more that are also available or being worked on.
Watch this space! It is one of the key differentiators between private, proprietary, and sometimes predatory social networks of the past, and modern social platforms like @LensProtocol
- Bring Your Whole Self to the Party with Disco.xyz
gm lens fam 🪩 Disco is your identity for the Metaverse. At Disco, we believe you are the multifaceted center of the party, and so you should be able to own, control, and reflect data about yourself to the world however you choose.
Think of us as your data backpack 🎒, where you can stash your private data in a way that’s owned and controlled by you. Creating your data backpack is similar to building an online profile, with components you can take with you across sites.
Our identities are complex and ever-evolving, and so too should the way we reflect the parts about ourselves in our daily interactions–online and IRL, onchain and offchain. That commitment to expression, fun, and social interaction is what brings us to Lens!
We are here to make sure that you never fill out a form again, that you never go to a concert of your favorite artist without receiving the VIP treatment that you've earned at home, that you never show up to a conference and have to wait in line.
You should be able to control the parts of yourself– or the things you do online– by choosing what you share publicly or what you keep in your backpack for your eyes only.
We’re excited to be here and can’t wait for the Lens community to join us on the dancefloor! Get DIDdy w/ it, collect this post, and claim your data backpack at app.disco.xyz/

- Allow us to reintroduce ourselves...meet the native hyperscaling solution for Lens, Momoka! Momoka is an Optimistic L3 scaling solution, that will process transactions at hyperscale, and is designed to support the next generation of web3 social users.
Data availability layers are utilized to prevent storing information on-chain. While content on Lens may include an on-chain transaction, the content data is linked to a data availability location, like Momoka.
Momoka serves as a scaling solution that processes Polygon transactions off-chain, achieving hyperscale and reducing costs. Unlike L2 solutions, Momoka doesn't compress transactions into L1, it sends and stores them on a data availability layer.
The main challenge for decentralized social networks is to ensure that users have control over their content, while still being just as user-friendly as traditional social networks. Momoka makes the future of decentralized social possible.
We've worked relentlessly with the @bundlr-network.lens and Arweave teams to ensure scalability by providing Data Availability (DA) guarantees, allowing the use of Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-supported wallets to save DA logic and facilitating the rapid publishing of data.
Permissionless innovation is at the core of everything we do on Lens. As we approach one year on mainnet (still in beta), we have been blown away by the talent and passion in our dev community but we realize in order to scale to the masses, we need to build new solutions.
Since yesterday, Momoka is already being beta tested on Lenster, Lenstube, Orb, Buttrfly and Phaver.
We look forward to seeing more applications roll out Momoka.
To make it easier to find any transaction made with Momoka, we built the Momoka Explorer (http://momoka.lens.xyz) to track and find Momoka transactions and to monitor the throughput speed of Momoka.

🥇 1st $5k
🥈 2nd $3k
🥉 3rd $2k
🎖️ 10 best Lens Integrations for nullk each
Lens is web3 native meaning it’s simple to build native payment features directly into your app. Mirrors, collects, follows and comments allow creators to monetize their content directly to the user, without intermediaries, and in a permissionless way. Premium content, token-gated rewards, tipping, crowdfunding, subscription services, referral, and affiliate programs are just a handful of the countless types of integrations you can build with Lens.
Looking for some inspiration?
- We're still in the early innings of AI and ML and want to see more devs utilizing the latest innovations from OpenAI, Replicate, HuggingFace, LangChain, and Dust just to name a few. Imagine the possibilities when web3 social intersects with AI/ML 🤯
- You could use AI/ML to analyze a user’s feed over the course of a few days and condense it into a single view so they can visit less often and still be up to date with what’s the latest and greatest.
- Or create a social learning platform that uses AI to create personalized learning paths for users. It could assess users' knowledge levels, recommend relevant learning materials, and provide real-time
feedback and guidance.
- You could use Lens profiles specifically for your gaming identity. Imagine your in-game items and high scores attached to your Lens profile and you curate a Lens leaderboard for the community.
- Bust a move! Build an app that lets users participate in virtual dance-off challenges. Users can record and upload their dances, challenge friends or random users, and compete for the elusive best dancer on Lens title 💃🕺
- Build a community app for @galverse.lens on Lens that utilizes the Splits for Collects feature (https://docs.lens.xyz/docs/create-post-typed-data#multirecipientfeecollectmodule) and you'll help with the development of the anime, character design, story, and more.
- Imagine using the Collect module for more exclusive content such as event ticketing.
- How about building a governance forum specifically for Lens users? gm DAOs 🤔
- Calling all pet lovers out there. Create a social platform where users can showcase their pets' talents, tricks, and general awesomeness. Users can upload videos of their pets and participate in virtual talent shows, with categories like "Best Trick," and "Funniest Moment"
- Want to bridge that gap from web2 social to web3? Build a site that shows you the most followed people that have used a site (maybe the 🐦 app) or help users connect their web2 account and generate a ZKP for mapping.
- Or a Lens creator dashboard for tracking post analytics (engagement, collects, revenue, etc) and helping you find your 1000 true fans.
- Maybe you find yourself collecting every post from one of the 100k profiles already on Lens. Create a module to “subscribe” to someone and automatically collect everything the post within certain parameters.

- SHINSEI GALVERSE: ORIGIN STORY - EPISODE 1
Shinsei Galverse is Japan's first breakout Web3 success story. In the first episode of this mini doco-series, meet the team and hear about how they first came together to create Galverse!
Inspired by nostalgic 80s and 90s anime, the Galverse team aim to create something entirely new by reimagining these ideas with modern values and badass Gals at the front and centre.
Gal NFT holders take part in the animation process, submitting ideas and creative works that are incorporated into the animation and production process. They also receive a backstage pass to learn about the process with behind-the-scenes videos of the animation studio and team's creative work.
The Galverse team is passionate about introducing Japanese culture to the world, introducing fans and newcomers to a deeper understanding of anime, Gal culture, and the country's creative scene.
- Lens Protocol is open, anyone who has a profile can have permissionless access regardless of what application they are using. We believe in supporting content creators and followers who create an engaging environment for everyone.
Some applications use gasless and signless transactions, and we have now introduced eligibility requirements for these features.
While everyone is eligible by default, accounts with low-signal engagement will not be eligible. You can read more about our requirements here. https://docs.lens.xyz/docs/gasless#eligibility-requirements
We are also testing filtering low-signal notifications for a better user experience. https://docs.lens.xyz/docs/users-notifications#api-details
At Lens, we believe that Web3 social should create a better experience than before, by using blockchain technology. We are always experimenting with ways to better our user experience by filtering low-signal profiles and bots. Let’s keep experimenting, our DMs are open for feedback 🧪

At ETH Denver one of the biggest challenges devs had was simply getting mobile wallet SDKs to actually work as intended. Today I tried ThirdWeb's new Mobile SDK for wallet connections and it was shockingly simple to set up and *just worked* the very first time.
We're seeing success with mobile-first Lens apps. Hopefully with better SDKs and tools like these we'll see even more experimentation.

- Blockchain Agnostics and Traveling to New Chains for Gains
Blockchain agnosticism is a concept that allows users to use multiple blockchains interchangeably without being tied to a specific blockchain network. Traveling to new chains is a common strategy used by blockchain agnostics to diversify their blockchain investments and mitigate the risks of being tied to a specific blockchain network. In this article, we will explore the benefits and challenges of traveling to new chains and how it can lead to big airdrops.
Benefits of Traveling to New Chains
Traveling to new chains provides users with the opportunity to take advantage of the unique features and benefits of different blockchain networks. For instance, some blockchain networks are faster, cheaper, and more scalable than others. By diversifying their blockchain investments, users can also mitigate the risks of being tied to a specific blockchain network that may have security or scalability issues.
Additionally, getting early on new blockchain networks can be an excellent strategy for blockchain agnostics to take advantage of big airdrops. When a new blockchain network launches, they often distribute free tokens or cryptocurrencies to early adopters as a way to bootstrap the network's ecosystem. These airdrops can be a significant source of income for blockchain agnostics who are quick to join new blockchain networks.
Challenges of Traveling to New Chains
Traveling to new chains can also present challenges for users. For instance, some blockchain networks may be less secure than others, and users may need to take extra precautions to protect their assets and data. Additionally, traveling to new chains can be time-consuming and costly, especially if users need to swap their assets or currencies to participate in the new blockchain network's ecosystem.
Moreover, traveling to new chains may lead to fragmentation in the blockchain ecosystem, making it challenging to maintain interoperability and standardization across different blockchain networks. As more users move their assets and data to different blockchain networks, it may become more challenging to manage and ensure the integrity of the blockchain ecosystem as a whole.
Conclusion
Blockchain agnosticism is the concept of being agnostic to a specific blockchain network and being able to use multiple blockchains interchangeably. By traveling to new chains, users can take advantage of the unique features and benefits of different blockchain networks, diversify their blockchain investments, and mitigate the risk of being tied to a specific blockchain network.
However, traveling to new chains also has its risks and challenges, such as fragmentation and the need for extra precautions to protect assets and data. As the blockchain ecosystem grows, we may see more collaboration and interoperability between different blockchain networks to facilitate blockchain agnosticism.
