- Capybara 🥰
At the competition for the world's cutest animal, the capybara doesn't have much competition.
This honeyed and seemingly clumsy animal's natural habitat is the soil of South America, and in Venezuela, on the farm where we stayed, there are thousands of them. Capybaras are most similar to guinea pigs, belonging to the rodent family, but they are much larger. They are social animals, living in large groups and having extended families, as you can see in this video; capybaras are rarely completely alone. Even if they are alone, another animal, such as a bird or crocodile, will be with them.
You've seen the environment in which capybaras live, alongside some of the most dangerous animals in the world. The only ones who 'bother' them are anacondas, which prey on them. They seem to get along well with crocodiles and caimans. They became globally popular after videos on TikTok, where capybaras ride crocodiles, leading some to characterize them as the most fearless animals.
Capybaras seem soft, but they're not; their fur is very sharp. We couldn't touch them; they would run away when we approached. However, on TikTok, I read about the experiences of other people who cuddled with them in an animal cafe in Tokyo. When I was in Japan six months ago, I didn't even know about the existence of capybaras, so I don't have that first-hand experience. But if someone is going to Japan soon, instead of a hedgehog cafe, let me know how it is in the capybara cafe.
Capybaras are herbivores, posing no danger to other animals. They are also excellent swimmers, able to stay underwater for up to 5 minutes.
Everyone loves capybaras, and in a short time, I've grown very fond of them. My top 3 cutest animals in the world that I've seen in person are the Philippine tarsier, tapir, and capybara. How about yours? 🥰🫶🏽☀️

this post is going to be personal
today, my ex-girlfriend brought me everything I left behind 3 years ago - a bunch of notebooks, drawings, and songs. one of those drawings is this one, which I've decided to title "brain malfunction"
I've always love technology, and today, while reading through the old notebooks, I've discovered why
my brain hasn't been functioning properly since I got my ROM; I have poorly connected cables that make me distance myself from the people I love the most, and bugs that prevent me from completing processes satisfactorily
that's why I've always liked technology, because it's easy to detect and repair an error, something I've wanted to do with myself all my life
I fantasize about having an integrated terminal where I can observe the log of every inner process to debug it
I guess life is about accepting that the brain isn't a Linux-based system :(

- Looking back at DeFi. We built something empowering, borderless and a democratizing financial system. I hope we forget how hard it was to build DeFi, because its extremely hard. Is it worth it? Yes. Blockchain tech exist to build systems that previously were error prone by the managing people. There are still countries that do not give decent access to banking, yield or even stable currency. Most of the governments still fund their budgets by printing money, meaning diluting value of your savings. It's not a system that is not build for the best interests of the people.

- gm and happy wednesday everyone! My first post here, bit excited🧑🔬
i plan to exhibit a collection called Digisapiens for my final project of Residency, which consists of .vrm avatars that I make after a class ends each time.
could call them "residency every day's" but no, they're Digisapiens for a reason.
they are deconstructed body sketches that you can wear on any metaverse, and the body + garments are merged into one being and exploded/decentralized many times until tabula rasa.
It's still in cooking process, been designing a (clockwork) runway show in hyperfy and a retail for it in mona, all of you of course invited, will share more on that when I progress bit more, hopefully!
So far, all the classes poured gallons of gasoline to my fire, so couldn’t get started if it wasn’t for this energy🩸🖤
you can collect the post below too, no need to follow, got 84 followers already 🥵

- **How to create memorable characters: A Writer's Perspective**
Creating memorable characters is a crucial aspect of storytelling, whether it's for a novel, screenplay, or any other form of narrative. As a writer, I believe I have discovered a secret technique that can help you craft characters that truly resonate with your audience. In this article, I will share this technique, along with some additional tips, to breathe life into your characters and make them unforgettable.
**First-Person Perspective Writing**
One of my go-to methods for character development is to write early versions of scripts from a first-person perspective. The key here is to write without overthinking it, allowing the ideas to flow freely as if you were keeping a diary. This technique immerses you in the character's mindset, helping you understand their inner workings and motivations better. By narrating events in the past tense, as if the character is recounting their experiences, you can delve deep into their psyche and even have them reflect on their actions. This process helps you uncover unique and unexpected facets of your characters, making them more complex and interesting.
**Avoid Over-Explaining Your Characters**
One common pitfall for writers is the urge to over-explain their characters. Real people are not always transparent, and their behavior can be contradictory and inexplicable, especially in tense situations and conflicts. To make your characters feel more authentic, embrace this complexity and contradiction. Let readers or viewers discover the characters gradually, rather than spoon-feeding them every detail.
**No Need for Full Biographies**
While some writing coaches recommend creating full biographies for your characters, I find this approach can sometimes make characters overly simplistic and predictable. Real biographies are often complex and multifaceted, so trying to mimic that complexity in a fictional biography can be challenging. Instead, focus on exploring your characters through their actions and dialogue.
**Want vs. Need**
One traditional storytelling tool that can enhance character development is exploring the difference between what a character wants and what they need. Characters may actively pursue a certain goal (their want), but there might be an underlying subconscious need that they must understand. This internal conflict can add depth and complexity to your characters.
**Research and Real-Life Inspiration**
To create believable characters, especially those with specific professions or experiences, conduct thorough research. Talk to people who have relevant knowledge or experiences, or scour online platforms like Reddit for real-life stories that can inspire your characters and their backgrounds. Real-life anecdotes can provide the authenticity that makes characters relatable.
**Contradictory Aspects**
Consider giving your characters seemingly contradictory traits or backgrounds. For example, you can have a deeply religious character who is also a scientist working with animals, creating tension and intrigue from the start. These unexpected combinations can make characters more memorable and engaging.
**Observing Real Conversations**
Pay attention to real conversations and how people speak. Record or transcribe dialogues to understand the natural flow and rhythm of conversations. This can help you capture the authentic voices of your characters and make their interactions feel genuine.
**Improvise with Actors**
If possible, involve actors in the character development process. Let them improvise in their character roles during auditions or rehearsals. Transcribe these improvisations and use them to revise your script. This technique can infuse your characters' dialogues with authenticity and give actors a stronger connection to their roles.
**Rehearse and Build Backstories**
Rehearse extensively with your actors, not just for scenes but also for character backstories. Improvise situations from the characters' past to create fictional memories that add depth to their performances. Actors may even have secrets about their characters that they keep to themselves, enhancing the realism of their portrayals.
Incorporating these techniques into your character development process can help you craft memorable, multifaceted, and authentic characters that resonate with your audience. Remember, the magic often lies in the subtlety and complexity of your characters, so embrace their contradictions and let them unfold naturally throughout your story. By doing so, you can create characters that feel genuinely real and leave a lasting impression on your readers or viewers.

- **Old School**
We’re taking it back to the old school on this one. 8-bit NES games, the discovery of hip-hop music, skateboarding on ramps we built on the street outside our home…
I originally called this song “Thursday”, which happened to be the day on which it was written. It’s one of the first songs I wrote. I was in high school, learning how to properly play the guitar. I had started playing finger-style guitar around this time, and figured out a funky right hand pattern which became the basis of the song. I played it quite a lot, but never made a proper recording. So it feels good to finally release this to the world!
Lastly, a note about the message in the lyrics - when I was younger, I really tried to be an optimist; I wanted to see the best in people and in the world. Sometimes it was really, REALLY hard. But I always tried, and keep trying to this day. So, this is a song dedicated to those constantly working on transcending our differences and lifting each other up - because we’re better off as a species that way.
