- Dear Lens fam, what is the Future of Social for you?
At t2, we believe the future social networks should revolve around our values, not just what grabs our attention. We want to foster meaningful connections with others, share what helps us achieve our goals, and enjoy articles that empower us.
We have witnessed how the Lens community celebrates genuine creativity and friendship. We believe our values and mission align closely with those of the Lens community. So, we are excited to bring a new type of writing and reading platform to @lensprotocol, starting with our manifesto. manifesto.t2.world
⏳ If you are on board with this vision, **sign the Manifesto** with your value propositions and complete all steps. You will receive a personalised card to showcase your values and **early access to the t2 alpha product**.
**If you are a writer, follow us and comment below with your favourite piece of writing by you. We will follow back!**
- I wanted to try something new.
This will be my first music release here on lens.
It's an early demo of my song "This Song" which came out in 2017. I probably wrote this on the road around 2015/2016. It has a lot of the final ideas, but totally different type of beat. This is what I showed Rostam, and we built from there.
It's unfinished and unpolished but it's kinda fun to look back at where ideas originated.

- **Improvements in this release**
🛠️ Simplified integration for React web apps. Install and import from `@lens-protocol/react-web` with less configuration.
🔐 Token-gated support: You can now create encrypted posts and comments which can only be read by users that match the criteria you define.
🪪 Active profile is automatically wired as the Observer ID of all relevant queries. Doing so the Lens SDK provides a cohesive view of the data that is relevant to the eye of the Active Profile.
**What's new?**
- New `@lens-protocol/react-web` package for a simplified React web apps integration
- Token-gated posts and comments
- Cohesive data fetching using Active Profile as Observer ID
- Enhanced fields for `ProfileStats` and `PublicationStats`
- Added `appId` to LensConfig. Allows you to identify posts created by your app. You can then use the `sources` to filter posts by the same App ID
- Added `useProfilesOwnedByMe`
- Added `useProfilePublicationsForSale`

- Introducing CultivatorDAO 🧑🌾👩🌾 the first Web3 social DAO designed for open, decentralized content moderation on Lens Protocol. It is the first solution for addressing spam, bots, and other risks that can damage your social graph.
CultivatorDAO is optional - meaning it can be "turned on" by developers and/or users - and helps address spam, mitigate the risk of bots, and further curate the social graph across the ecosystem.
CultivatorDAO is also forkable, meaning the Lens community can fork the DAO and create their own version that caters to their specific needs for content moderation.
We believe that open, decentralized content moderation leads to more user-centric web that is resistant to abuse and censorship. We are excited to see what the Lens developer community builds out 🏡

- **Lens Creator Bytes**
As the Lens fam continues to grow we are starting a new weekly series where we get members of the community to share some insights about their journey into Web3 and some alpha for our amazing creators out there.
This week’s guest writer is Nick Hollins from @ufoclub.lens
Q1) Tell us about yourself
"I’m an artist and musician who started out in crypto in 2017 coming from journalism, broadcasting, festivals and the music industry. These days I spend my time on creative projects with friends around the world, learning and exploring ideas with DAOs and communities."
Q2) Tell us about your project(s) and what is your mission?
"I’m the creator and host of UFO Club, a place for revolutionary ideas. It’s a podcast experimenting with web3 publishing and community, talking with artists, musicians and web3 builders about the future.
I’m a founder of voyager (https://www.voyager.xyz/) which is a collective launching artists, musicians and culture-bearers into web3 space. My mission is empowering artists and the counterculture with free internet spaces built on open protocols. Discovering what these networks and realms can produce in culture and artistic expression."
Q3) What excites you about Web3?
"It’s the future of the internet. An opportunity to redesign our digital environments for more positive outcomes, as the current centralised platforms have significant negative effects. When you attend Ethereum meetups or join a DAO’s discord community, you meet people from all over the world who are inspired and actively building out projects with open web3 protocols. Sharing knowledge and collaborating. The rapid rate of experimentation and a freedom to fuck around and find out is an exciting space to be in. Reimagining the internet for greater collective good is worthy of time and attention."
Q4) What tips do you have for aspiring creators in the space?
"At first it’s about learning all you can. Some recommendations for getting up to speed include The Defiant, Forefront, On The Other Side by Chase Chapman, Water & Music, and UpOnly. The Infinite Machine by Cami Russo is a great read about the history of Ethereum.
There’s many opportunities to join projects and DAOs. Bring your skills to the space. Shifting from observation to actively contributing helps to make friends, connect with people, and build your network. Always be trying what’s new for creators. Apply for beta access to things and test out new tools, see how things connect together. Right now Lens is a space to be active."
Q5) What’s next for you?
"Building with the voyager collective. I’ll be continuing to experiment with publishing across the Lens ecosystem. Recording new episodes of UFO each week with projects including Metalabel, Songcamp, and Zerion. We are hearing rumours about the UFO Club — engage with us on @ufoclub.lens and Twitter for an invitation."

- gm video creators of Lens! 🌿
Excited to announce the highly-requested feature - **video views** 👀 is now live on #Lenstube! This is a basic but important metric for creators to understand how their videos are performing.
For now, you can find the video view count on the video page itself. View count registers start views with deduping logic that prevents users from attempting to inflate view counts. In the future, we'll support additional viewership and engagement metrics so you can better understand popularity and performance.
What other metrics do you want to see for Lenstube?

- Hey!, my name is Benjamin Gutiérrez, one of the founders of Wav3s 🤝 and I'm here to tell you the story of how I went from a regular job to living my dream of working full-time on Wav3s.
At the end of 2021, together with @cristianvaldivia.lens , another Wav3s founder, we decided to leave our start-up at the peak of success. We were working like crazy without much remuneration, but it was impossible to scale, since we were working with hardware. We knew we wanted to take the plunge and dive into the world of Web 3, since our team meetings always ended up with us discussing the exciting world of blockchain. We had a couple of ideas, but nothing concrete - so each one of us went our own way.
I spent the next year automating processes in several companies, while still studying up to launch myself into entrepreneurship in Web3. The second semester of 2022 changed everything. With Cristian, we attended our first crypto event in Argentina - and it just so happened that it was on my birthday! It was one of the best birthdays I've ever had, getting to know the crypto community and projects like Poap , which helped us a lot to connect with more people. But the highlight of the week was when Stani talked about Lens protocol - it blew my head off! 🤯
When I arrived back in Chile, I was disappointed to find that there was not the same level of community and activity. I apply to become a Polygon Guild Mage, to create the Polygon community in Chile. Hundreds of people applied, and luckily I was chosen - I think my travels to Argentina helped.
Thanks to being a Polygon Guild Mage, I was given a scholarship to Devcon. We participated in the Hackathon and I still think we should have won a prize, because our product was really good - and the product work perfectly. We created a humanity verification system with Poap, so if you shared POAPs with another person, you could validate them as human - a simple, but useful idea to fight bots. 🤖
Although our project, Verify me or Soureal, didn't work out, I still have a lot of affection for it. We had the chance to meet the entire Lens team, including Stani, and they invited us to rAave and more. 🤗
When we returned to Chile, we met @bvdaniel.lens , the other Wav3s founder, and tested a couple of ideas within the Lens ecosystem. When we made it public on Lens, nobody tested it or even liked it. We felt completely unnoticed, so we decided to create Wav3s, so that everyone could spread their publications through Lens - and the growth it has had, and all the support we've received, still amazes.
The conclusion of this story is that one decision can open or close a world of opportunities - so don't be afraid to take a risk, because you may find something even better! 🤩
- **The Rise Of UGC 2.0: User Generated Collects**
Everyone has seen the power of User-Generated Content 'UGC' in the age of social media. Here's why UGC 2.0 or 'User-Generated Collects' will be the next evolution of this format unlocked by the blockchain.
I have been posting snippets here on Lenster the last few weeks about these themes as I framed out my article.
Here is the final piece: **https://mirror.xyz/chrissyb.eth/r0SyE9QdvQribykjXvdMqYElGQT8ZFnthV_rUlyNqNk**
#LMCC
Inspired by the following people: @ladidaix, @ryanfox, @bellosights (@levychain), @stani and @azeem.
**Cliff notes:**
In today's one-directional social media interactions, "likes'' are abundant & meaningless when it comes to generating authentic connections or content discovery. Instead of simply liking something, we would rather participate.
UGC 2.0 is not just a new format, it will revolutionize social media by unlocking far-reaching effects on content consumption than its predecessor. Collectable social content will enrich our experiences and create new forms of digital engagement between creators and users alike.
By giving creators and users ownership & control of their content without the impediments of gatekeepers they can leverage it into new opportunities across fandom, community connectivity, curation, data and monetization.
Creators aren’t defined by one platform or medium anymore. The creators, curators and communities of tomorrow will be empowered by data transparency aggregated across the entire social ecosystem without the gatekeepers and centralized databases of today. A more sustainable environment for the long tail and micro-creator to flourish as a result. Indexing less on numbers such as reach and likes, instead providing the tools to focus on quality and depth of relationship and content.
It will also mark the future of brand creation. Changing how brands interact with consumers as active participants in their own social consumption.
This is what @lensprotocol strives for. I hope this piece helps scratch the surface and inspires creators, users and builders to explore the possibilities.

- Podcast NFTs are back with a Lens Protocol exclusive ft. Christina Beltramini.
This drop celebrates S7E15 with @christina - an eye-opening conversation covering her time growing web2 social at TikTok to now growing web3 social at Lens.
From championing the curator to breaking down the new era of user-generated content, our session dives into a ton.
The inspiration behind this drop stems from the realization that a creator's community of collectors will surpass its community of followers.
Lens currently embodies this best and has enabled a new experiment between the intersection of content distribution and collection.
I've been active on here for months now and consistently get more engagement across web3 social, though I have yet to experiment with its full potential.
That changes tomorrow.

- hello lens 💜
i’m so thrilled to be here.
i've been involved in this ecosystem since 2017 and despite the ups and downs i'm still so excited and enthusiastic about how this technology can empower artists to break away from the music industrial complex. more importantly, allow creators to connect with audiences in a more meaningful way. it's the best time ever to be an independent artist.
although my main gig has always been music, i've always been a visually oriented person. in fact, in 2002 i almost went to design school instead of music. i often wonder how things would have turned out. i've been lucky enough to work with amazing visual artists over the years to craft album artwork and a cohesive vision, but lately i've been dabbling with creating my own.
which brings me to this image, an abstract architectural space, somewhat liminal but i find it weirdly comforting. it's a free collectible for following me on this journey.
i'll be posting music, art, video and combinations of all three.
a million thanks to the lens team for helping me get the coveted 3 letter handle.
✨
