The team denies it's from a DDoS or similar attack, they say it's just server load.

Would've loved to collect this comment for historical reasons. At any point in time people commonly take the current era for granted, assume it was obvious, and completely disregard the actual sentiment of the previous era. People today assume IG and Twitter were obvious and always made sense but at the time 99% of the population thought they were stupid. Jon Stewart famously ridiculed Facebook's purchase of IG for null Billion. Pictures of lunch were stupid.
Those were real struggles to bootstrap those networks, change opinions, and prove their worth. Eventually it will be "obvious" to everyone that transacting value over the Internet just makes sense. Remember how hard this struggle is today, because it will happen again and again.
