I’ve been a huge fan of @lens/grams since he became (literally, perhaps) the first photographer on Lens. I’ve admired his work and come to call him a friend over the last 2 years thanks to Lens. We’ve hung out in person and been in touch practically every week since lens launched. Today, my $BONSAI helped me collect my first piece from him on Foundation. On the one hand, I didn’t want to sell. On the other hand, I can’t think of a more appropriate use of it: a meme coin that I earned for engaging on lens now let me connect and collect from one of those people I engage with most. “Oscar Hangover” In the glitzy world of Hollywood, the Oscars were the stars of the show. Shiny, golden, and coveted, they graced the mantels of the industry’s elite. But one particular Oscar statue, named Oscar the Great, found himself in a rather unexpected predicament. At a lavish after-party following the Academy Awards ceremony, Oscar the Great found himself surrounded by the who’s who of Hollywood. Champagne flowed freely, laughter filled the air, and Oscar was at the center of it all. Basking in the adulation, he indulged in one too many glasses of bubbly, thinking he could handle it like a seasoned pro. As the night wore on, the glitz and glamour faded into a hazy blur. Oscar danced on tables, mingled with celebrities, and even attempted to give an acceptance speech for “Best Partygoer.” But as the clock struck midnight, reality hit hard. The room spun, and Oscar realized he was in trouble. The next morning, sunlight pierced through the curtains, assaulting Oscar’s golden exterior with its harsh brightness. Groaning, he attempted to sit up, but the throbbing in his head made him regret every sip of champagne from the night before. “I must have been out of my mind,” Oscar muttered to himself, clutching his head in agony. He glanced around the room, trying to piece together the events of the previous night. Empty champagne bottles littered the floor, and remnants of confetti clung to his gleaming surface. With great effort, Oscar managed to stumble to the bathroom, where he splashed cold water on his face in an attempt to soothe his pounding headache. As he looked at his reflection in the mirror, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of embarrassment. “I‘m supposed to be the epitome of elegance and grace,” Oscar muttered, shaking his head in disbelief. “What have I done?” But despite his regrets, Oscar knew that this hangover would serve as a valuable lesson. From that day forward, he vowed to always drink responsibly and uphold the dignity of the prestigious award he represented. And so, with a newfound sense of determination, Oscar the Great emerged from his hangover stronger and wiser than ever before, ready to shine once again on the silver screen of Hollywood. How to grow your Lens account (0 to 500 followers). Tip #1: What works for big accounts doesn't work for you. Simple like this. How many of us are disappointed because what we produce is not noticed, while low-quality content by big accounts gets a lot of comments, likes, mirrors, and collects? Life could be unfair, but not on this matter. Big accounts have extensive attention because their content goes to a broader community by default.
