Breaking new ground…
First multi-recipient collect on a collaboration between @jamieforsyth.lens and @jamesfinnerty.lens
This piece was conceived in a solar-powered shipping container studio in the forests of Northern California. (*in fact, at the moment this was recorded the sun was powering the whole studio directly through the solar panels; no battery bank needed!)
We started with a mono, overhead drum recording using a single mic, and some bass accompaniment done together in a single live improvised take. It was then passed back and forth remotely to add acoustic and electric guitars and then the final touches.

She’s Yamila, my Uruguayan friend, the best company I could have, I met her when I worked as a security guard in a mall and she worked at the cinema, a cheerful girl with whom I laughed a lot, on Wednesdays after work we always went to Brecha Bar to taste the 2x1 fernet, there they served the perfect amount of coke and fernet which made it an exquisite drink.
Then when we were very happy we would go to Blues Bar to dance with good music, I remember that sometimes they played Michael Jackson and all kind of music, it was a pleasant atmosphere, in this picture we had finished touring the fair and she was rolling a joint, I always told her: “I don’t know anyone who is being more in the present than you”; clearly at that time it was easy for me to get lost in my own mind.
She would really get annoyed with me for that, when I managed to beat myself we had the best conversations and the most magical moments. Drinking mate and venturing into conversations full of laughter, sometimes dancing to the candombe drums that played every Sunday in different streets of Montevideo, whenever we were together it was as if our energy attracted the best situations, interesting people, etc.

This is a huge step forward for UX for the API. This is our first steps doing optimistic API updates, this means when you do a free follow or collect the state will be reflected straight away in the UI experience. No need for hard UI optimistic caching and this inherits on all of the lens apps instantly. The transaction then is processed in the background without the user having to wait. This means for example you follow user Y and then refresh it will still look like your following, you will start seeing them in the timeline and it just be as it is like on web2 social media sites. Optimistic API updates is something we going to be doing for all actions as we start trying to build the best UX we can from the API level.
