- We're proud to introduce Lens Improvement Proposals (LIPs). This open, collaborative process will guide the future development of Lens Protocol.
Taking inspiration from the successful Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) and Aave Improvement Proposals (AIPs), LIPs takes a step towards decentralized governance. The LIPs process will foster an inclusive, transparent and collaborative environment.
You will find how to participate in LIPs in the Lens Protocol’s GitHub repository, which streamlines the community participation process. It gives anyone the chance to submit proposals, and promotes open discussion.
Let's dive into the first three proposals that are live today:
LIP-0: Establishing an Open Governance Model. A process where the Lens community can propose improvements to Lens Protocol. From the submission of proposals to transparent discussions — we aim to foster an open, collaborative, and inclusive decision-making governance model.
LIP-1: Open Standards for Algorithms. A proposal to establish open standards for algorithms — based on the open Lens data layer — that will encourage the development of third-party algorithms, diverse experiences and provide user choice.
LIP-2: Open Standards for Metadata. An initiative to establish metadata standards for Lens Protocol, promoting transparency, interoperability, and user empowerment.
Take a deep dive into LIPs in our latest blog: https://mirror.xyz/lensprotocol.eth/8uxN9fMYBOqyDW5yZ6O3DDdOLEv1jJtxcw9qk4c4wgM
LIPs are our next step in enabling community involvement in shaping Lens Protocol's future.

- lens is an image recognition model based on deep learning, which can be used for tasks such as image classification, object detection and image segmentation. The reference lens can provide us with more refined and diverse image processing and recognition functions, thus making the Web3 social network more intelligent and humanized. For example, lens can be used for image classification to help users better identify and classify image and video content in social networks; it can also be used for target detection to help users discover and pay attention to specific content and content in social networks more quickly event. At the same time, lens can be used for image segmentation, helping users manage and share data and value in social networks more finely.
- Lens Protocol is open, anyone who has a profile can have permissionless access regardless of what application they are using. We believe in supporting content creators and followers who create an engaging environment for everyone.
Some applications use gasless and signless transactions, and we have now introduced eligibility requirements for these features.
While everyone is eligible by default, accounts with low-signal engagement will not be eligible. You can read more about our requirements here. https://docs.lens.xyz/docs/gasless#eligibility-requirements
We are also testing filtering low-signal notifications for a better user experience. https://docs.lens.xyz/docs/users-notifications#api-details
At Lens, we believe that Web3 social should create a better experience than before, by using blockchain technology. We are always experimenting with ways to better our user experience by filtering low-signal profiles and bots. Let’s keep experimenting, our DMs are open for feedback 🧪

Lens is web3 native meaning it’s simple to build native payment features directly into your app. Mirrors, collects, follows and comments allow creators to monetize their content directly to the user, without intermediaries, and in a permissionless way. Premium content, token-gated rewards, tipping, crowdfunding, subscription services, referral, and affiliate programs are just a handful of the countless types of integrations you can build with Lens.
Looking for some inspiration?
- We're still in the early innings of AI and ML and want to see more devs utilizing the latest innovations from OpenAI, Replicate, HuggingFace, LangChain, and Dust just to name a few. Imagine the possibilities when web3 social intersects with AI/ML 🤯
- You could use AI/ML to analyze a user’s feed over the course of a few days and condense it into a single view so they can visit less often and still be up to date with what’s the latest and greatest.
- Or create a social learning platform that uses AI to create personalized learning paths for users. It could assess users' knowledge levels, recommend relevant learning materials, and provide real-time
feedback and guidance.
- You could use Lens profiles specifically for your gaming identity. Imagine your in-game items and high scores attached to your Lens profile and you curate a Lens leaderboard for the community.
- Bust a move! Build an app that lets users participate in virtual dance-off challenges. Users can record and upload their dances, challenge friends or random users, and compete for the elusive best dancer on Lens title 💃🕺
- Build a community app for @galverse.lens on Lens that utilizes the Splits for Collects feature (https://docs.lens.xyz/docs/create-post-typed-data#multirecipientfeecollectmodule) and you'll help with the development of the anime, character design, story, and more.
- Imagine using the Collect module for more exclusive content such as event ticketing.
- How about building a governance forum specifically for Lens users? gm DAOs 🤔
- Calling all pet lovers out there. Create a social platform where users can showcase their pets' talents, tricks, and general awesomeness. Users can upload videos of their pets and participate in virtual talent shows, with categories like "Best Trick," and "Funniest Moment"
- Want to bridge that gap from web2 social to web3? Build a site that shows you the most followed people that have used a site (maybe the 🐦 app) or help users connect their web2 account and generate a ZKP for mapping.
- Or a Lens creator dashboard for tracking post analytics (engagement, collects, revenue, etc) and helping you find your 1000 true fans.
- Maybe you find yourself collecting every post from one of the 100k profiles already on Lens. Create a module to “subscribe” to someone and automatically collect everything the post within certain parameters.

- To summarize, a Web3 social network is a social network that is built on top of a blockchain, which enables a more decentralized and autonomous experience with better data privacy protection, smart contracts, and features. Additionally, a Web3 social network can support cross-platform access and sharing, ization, data sharing, and custom permissions for users to manage their social relationships, data permissions, and access permissions more efficiently.
One such example of a Web3 social network is Lens, which is a deep learning-based image recognition model that can be used for image classification, target detection, and image segmentation. By leveraging Lens, users can obtain more precise and diverse image processing and recognition capabilities, thereby making Web3 social networks more intelligent and personalized. For example, Lens can be used for image classification to help users better identify and categorize images and videos on social networks; it can also be used for target detection to help users quickly discover and focus on specific content and events on social networks. Finally, Lens can be used for image segmentation to help users more efficiently manage and share data and value on social networks.

BlockBeats previously reported that on June 29 last year, Arbitrum announced the suspension of Odyssey activities, saying that in order to ensure a better experience for users on Arbitrum One, it is tentatively scheduled to restart Odyssey after the official release of its Nitro development network based on the Ethereum testnet. Activity.
- Nobody asked, but here’s my 2 MATIC on Instagram’s recent announcement concerning the shutdown of their short lived NFT pilot:
If you’re in web3 and you’re surprised or disappointed about Instagram sunsetting their digital collectibles initiative, that therein lies the issue.
You cannot say that you are working towards mass adoption without considering the wants and needs of traditional consumers.
Ask 10 people that you know outside of the web3 space how they felt about Instagram removing NFTs and you’re likely to receive one of three responses:
1) I didn’t know that they had them
2) I didn’t care that they had them
3) I didn’t like that they had them
Digital collectibles on Instagram predominantly appealed to folks who were already leveraging blockchain, but they didn’t really move the needle for their web2 consumer base, aka 99.9% of their users.
I personally found it exciting that Instagram decided to dabble with NFTs, similarly to how Reddit, Inc. and Spotify are doing so. Nonetheless, their decision to reevaluate shouldn’t be condemned.
It’s still early. The way NFTs have been introduced to the general public has been less than ideal. And it certainly doesn’t help that seemingly every week, there is a new crisis in crypto.
We have a very long way to go before mass adoption becomes a feasibility.
Instead of being upset by setbacks, let’s shift our focus to how we approach creating opportunities for web2 natives to participate in the web3 landscape by meeting them where they are.
More importantly, this is obviously a great opportunity for @lensprotocol.lens to further solidify itself as the leader in digital collectibles on social.
I had the privilege of being a member of the latest Lens @creators.lens accelerator cohort and I’m confident that despite market conditions, Lens will continue to facilitate innovative ways for creators of all kinds to thrive in the world of web3 social.
I’m looking forward to witnessing how the landscape will continue to evolve over the course of the next few quarters. And I’m even more excited about being an early adopter during this time.
Here’s to the future of the intersection of digital collectibles and social media 🥂

- If you have a mature estimate and judgment on this market, set a relatively safe liquidation line, and always leave room for yourself, then it doesn't really matter whether you stop loss or not.
Because there is room, so when the market with no underlying risk is in an extreme decline, what you should think about is how to take more panic chips.
