Have you ever wondered about the tendencies and behaviors of Users within #Centralized and #Decentralized Platforms? #Web3 #Social `1/` In what we term as the "Social Flow", we simplify it by visualizing the content creators and regular users in each type of platform. `2/` The established content creators within #centralized platforms typically have an audience already. Whereas those in #decentralized platforms have to rebuild their audiences as not all would move over with them! `3/` However on the other hand, this also means that you have the opportunity to build a new type of "niche" audience who are focused on #decentralized platforms, as an early content creator! `4/` In terms of regular users on #centralized platforms who seek convenience and familiarity, they might not want to make a switch to #decentralized platforms without sufficient incentives. `5/` The regular users on #decentralized platforms are also typically more "explorative" in nature, and thus also have the tendency to leave to try out other protocols/platforms. `6/` Thus there is a need for an "infrastructure" or data portability within #decentralized social networks. We can also see that with the increased attention on #ActivityPub, #centralized social networks are attempting to resolve interoperability issues too. What do you think? We held a Space with the @lensprotocol #CN Chinese Community over the weekend. Let's discuss some notable and interesting insights raised! @lenster.lens @stani.lens @yoginth.lens 👇👇👇 `1/ Keep a Close Eye on #Web3 #Social` It was agreed that the Web3 Social Space is rapidly changing, and we need to be consistently monitoring new projects and be on the lookout for sentiment changes. `2/ #Real Users, Not Airdrop Farmers` Besides convincing content creators and their audiences to move to #Decentralized Socials, builders need to focus on what would retain users who are here for the long term, and not just for monetary reasons. `3/ Some Interesting Tactics` It was also mentioned that on @lensprotocol , @lenster.lens had a feature where there would be a picture of a sun when you write "GM" within your post. This was said to be a small, yet effective and interesting idea to encourage daily usage. `4/ Identifying the Real Needs of Users` There are black boxes in centralized socials, but that may not be a good enough reason to attract users. Thus, this is a good time to sit down and really think of what users really wants, and the ways we can cater to their needs. `5/ Optimistic on #Web3 #Social` It was unanimously agreed that now is the best time to #BUIDL, despite the market downturn, and we should be fully focused on innovation. This is so we can be prepared when the market situation improves, which is unpredictable. __ We are glad to be surrounded by like-minded people in building the Decentralized Social Space.
