This is a song for the dreamers. We spend a lot of time thinking about the way our lives should be, the things we need to do, the people we want to become. But there’s a point when thought seeks action. We unexpectedly enter a flow state; thoughts and dreams shift into something more real, but transcend the initial idea of what we thought they were. It’s like a mystery unfolding, revealing the underlying intention of our dreams more clearly. I wrote this song almost twenty years ago, while living in Montreal. I played it many times live at shows, often with my talented violinist friend, Jean-Fred Lizotte. We never got a chance to record it in studio, but there was one practice recording I made at my home that sat untouched for years. Since I started releasing music on #Lens I’ve been searching for older material to rework - and I stumbled upon his wonderful violin performance. It was simply too good to keep it stored on a hard drive any longer. But the original tempo was too fast. Using elastic audio, I slowed the violin down to a new tempo, then re-recorded the guitar, bass and vocals. I added a beat and some new arrangements around the violin part using Slate ANA2 and NI NOIRE (shout to @larryscruff.lens for the tip). It’s a long track, just over 7 minutes, so it took about one month to record the parts, and put together the final mix and stereo master. What are your thoughts and experiences with traveling alone? I feel okay about travelling solo, for me it has always been a fun experience, doesn't really mater if i'm alone or not, travelling is great! I visited quite a few places on solo trips including London, Paris, Barcelona, some places around Italy, Shree Lanka, I think my last solo trip was to Mauritius last year. Ofc some places are safer than the others, and it's better to be mindful of that when you're a woman planning a solo trip. ✈️ \#kaira #travel

Introducing Bonsai, an Optimistic L3 scaling solution, that will process transactions at hyper-scale, and is designed to support the next generation of web3 social users. Available for Lens devs in closed beta today. Data availability layers are utilized to prevent storing information on-chain. While content on Lens may include an on-chain transaction, the content data is linked to a data availability location, like Bonsai. Bonsai serves as a scaling solution that processes Polygon transactions off-chain, achieving hyperscale and reducing costs. Unlike L2 solutions, Bonsai doesn't compress transactions into L1, it sends and stores them on a data availability layer. The main challenge for decentralized social networks is to ensure that users have control over their content, while still being just as user-friendly as traditional social networks. Bonsai makes the future of decentralized social possible. We've worked relentlessly with the @bundlr-network.lens work and Arweave teams to ensure scalability by providing Data Availability (DA) guarantees, allowing the use of Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-supported wallets to save DA logic and facilitating the rapid publishing of data. Important to keep in mind when feeling euphoric about Lens: EVERY new social network starts out feeling great and rapid growth is the norm. These aspects are not attributable to being “web3” or “desoc.” Everyone’s happy, everything is new. A group of people have self-selected into a group of explorers. These are people who need to get along long enough for the network to gain network effects and survive. They are by definition “early” and thus starving for content to consume. Anyone creating half-decent content will experience rapid growth vs established social networks. “I have more followers here than on Twitter!” Yeah, you’ve gone from swimming in an ocean to a kiddy pool 🙄 this is not shocking or new. Many here on Lens are blown away by the attention they’re receiving and mistakenly attributing that to the web3 characteristics. We haven’t even -begun- to use the web3 nature of this network. You’re experiencing new network vibes. Enjoy it. Embrace it. Build your new audience. I’m happy for you. Now that I have your attention and you have mine let’s build a moat around Lens which keeps us unique. Let’s build apps which use Collects as data. No one else is doing it and it’s native to the protocol. This should be really, really easy to get going.
