Lens would greatly benefit to have a layer three that has an EIP-4484 like PIP.

absolutely think L3 will be the place for #lens (and web3 social media)
Actually polygon it self has something called supernets which is basically a layer on top of polygon mainnet which is specified to each dapp so if they wan't they can deploy their custom chain on top of polygon with their own validator alongside with polygon mainnet validators which probably is the reason why stani chose the polygon in the first place.
