Well, it's getting abstracted by browsers bit by bit. E.g.: enforcing https, hiding it in the address bar. Deeper level defaults would of course be better, but maybe they are coming?
HTTPS provides secure communication and encryption on the internet. It is essential for protecting sensitive data and ensuring privacy. Removing HTTPS would compromise security and expose users to various risks, making it impractical to abstract it away.
