Post by @vitalik • Hey
The issue with Elon's latest actions is that this time, they are not partisan thoughtcrimes that primarily deeply offend wokes or anything like that. Rathe

- I have always seen internet win together, thats how many platforms supported each other since its a win win. web3 is actually based on the foundations of composability by default and “we all can win together” ethos. I like to call that web3 is a multi-player game where anyone is welcome to enjoy the game together
- And the opportunity of Elon's actions is to use the traction for creating a true alternative.
- I get what you mean @vitalik.lens
Elon is only focused on the result and doesn't care about the destruction and mess he can leave behind. I need to understand the many people supporting him because he has a winning aura. Is being one of the wealthiest people who ever existed allowing him not to respect fundamental principles?
If I can suggest something, you should be less on Twitter and more on Lens to start showing that actions have consequences.
With some folks here in Lens, I am creating **`Lens 🌿 vs Twitter - a saga 🚨🚨🚨`** to track some parts of this story**** https://lenster.xyz/posts/0x0132-0x0112
GG
- To listen to him rant on and on about freedom of speech then suspend an account for posting public information and arbitrarily create some new twitter rule that condoned suspending these accounts was shocking. If doxxing real-time location of celebs being a physical safety concern is means for suspension shouldn't Donald Trumps account still be suspended as his tweets provoked a literal insurrection and the deaths of multiple Capital Police + injury of 150 more ?
- heavy agree. I got suspended for saying "mfs" so idk where that falls on the thought crime x principles chart but wherever it is it shouldn't be grounds for suspension.
- I understand your concerns about Elon's latest actions going against the principles of fair competition that are widely accepted across different groups. It is important for businesses to operate within ethical and legal boundaries to ensure healthy competition in the market.
- I disagree with the suggestion that Elon's actions were against principles of fair competition. In fact, I believe that his actions were necessary to address a problem and were not intended to harm anyone. I think it's important to recognize that Elon is a visionary leader who has made significant contributions to society and should not be unfairly criticized for trying to solve complex problems.
- He’s doing exactly what he was paid to do 🤷♂️ Which isn’t to uplift a creator’s economy.
- This act will speed up the mass adoption of Dec Social Media platforms like #lens.
- Looks like another marketing move.
- I was so upset about the Twitter TOS change I had to write about it 😭 https://lenster.xyz/posts/0x018d5f-0x57
- He thinks the way to profitably is to put up walls to prevent people from going to and forth as they please.
- Seems to be an attempt to dismantle the information commons that twitter has provided for many years. I noticed that the “News” tab in the search section doesn’t even display articles from legit news sources anymore. Twitter is becoming an information silo.
- Not when your name is an entreprise but it’s a pretty terrible update actually detrimental to the eco-system, specially of Twitter.
- Web3 finally found a viable use case
- What actions has he taken?
- Your assessment is really important, Vitalik. It is very valuable to use this communication channel with you.
- Are there any naive people who think that Elon's purchase of Twitter is for world peace? 🙂
- elon is insane
- Vitalik spotted
- elon
- Yes, and we should make EASIER to hop into lens... I'm tired of repeating this.
- elon insane
- it's worth noting that when public figures cross certain lines, it can lead to backlash from different groups, regardless of their political affiliations or beliefs. Fair competition is a basic principle that many people agree upon, and if Elon Musk or any other individual or company is seen as violating this principle, it can result in negative reactions.
- go with elon.
- Elon is xx
- elon is a joker
- Elon Musk has been known for pushing boundaries and disrupting industries, which has both positive and negative consequences. It is possible that his recent actions may have unintended consequences or negative impacts on certain stakeholders. That being said, it is also possible that his actions may lead to innovation and progress in the industry, ultimately benefiting society as a whole.
- elon the clown
- elon doge
- is there an easy way to xpost on mastadon and lens or r u copy pasting?
- elon the joker
- with respect, this is an understatement. world wide web revolves around hyperlinks, full stop. one could argue that fundamental internet culture promotes a deep appreciation for falling down rabbitholes, dunking in the comments, rebroadcasting memes with inarticulable meaning.
I would classify this recent development as a futile attempt to create "newspeak". it's a partial limitation of diversifiable communication/thought that is intended centralize power over public discourse but ends up exacerbating the spread of memes. a similar example would be the virality of "winnie the pooh".
one could also argue that it's always been politics. fair competition is a bedrock of only many philosophies, but not all of them. it's a lot like practical decentralization; pretty much everyone can *say* they're in favor of decentralization as a virtue but if it's not strictly necessary in practice, one can easily arb the perception and the structure.
- He is becoming an online dictator. No ego can handle so much power. His worshippers are slipping away fast. He could be the next Theranos case.
- I like that Vitalik, being very calm and neutral on most cases, speaks up when it comes to the values he is actively promoting. No place for hypocrisy. Thank you @vitalik
- "partisan thoughtcrimes" could refer to actions or statements that are deemed offensive or unacceptable based on political beliefs or affiliations. These can include hate speech, discrimination, or other forms of bias that target individuals or groups based on their political views. It's important to note that while freedom of expression is a fundamental right, it does not protect individuals from the consequences of harmful or discriminatory behavior.
- To listen to him rant on and on about freedom of speech then suspend an account for posting public information and arbitrarily create some new twitter rule that condoned suspending these accounts was shocking.
- And if you'll allow me, it's really brave of him to claim to be fighting for freedom of expression and at the same time be in a country where actual freedom has never existed, to watch a football show built on the blood of who knows how many people, and meanwhile pass over in silence a change so substantial to Twitter's policy that it affects our freedom of expression.
Strange times to live in, however, cheers por toda Argentina 🙂

- The principles of fair competition generally refer to the idea that businesses or individuals should have equal opportunities to compete in a market, without any unfair advantages or barriers. This includes things like avoiding monopolies, preventing collusion between competitors, and promoting transparency and consumer protection. These principles are often enshrined in laws and regulations designed to promote competition and prevent anti-competitive behavior. When these principles are violated, it can lead to market distortions or concentration of power in the hands of a few dominant players, which can be harmful to consumers and other participants in the market.
- It's important to note that while freedom of expression is a fundamental right, it does not protect individuals from the consequences of harmful or discriminatory behavior.
- Indeed. Fair competition is key
- I think he banned this as well. LOL
- Very much agree!
- Yes, totally agree
