Soon after the award was declared, the owner of the photograph, a Sydney-based AI studio known as Absolutely AI, disclosed that the stunningly vibrant aerial photo of a surfer riding the wave at sunset wasn’t a photo at all! The picture was AI-generated. So detailed & perfect and looked more appealing than many of the photos taken by real people. Even the panel of experts were fooled! Is human creativity under threat?
