Post by @onionclub • Hey
making sense of transactions on Starknet is not the most simple task for me.
I'm aware of three block explorers:
Comments
- ok, I'll answer the question myself🤣
the solution is the same as with zkSync: the OKX exchange. I can't believe it! point your interwebs navigation device to https://www.okx.com/explorer/starknet
exact dates, readable transaction data, and the Assets Tab is even featuring your DeFi holdings. NFT transfers are in a separate tab, much like Etherscan.
is anyone working at OKX? kudos! does anyone know anyone there? say hi!
I guess, I will have a look at their other explorers now.
- Ughh you’re too proactive 🤣
cc/ @0xmoe.lens @kipto.lens this is an example of a post I’d love to “watch” and get notified when people post responses. I know you’re doing a lot of work, just throwing it out there 🙏
- You always have the BEST news @punkess.lens !
Gonna tell to all the mermaids!💙🧜🏻♀️
- wow
- good info bro
- some preliminary observations:
1) the Argent X transactions are added to the software 🎉 but it's a difficult endeavor 😬
I always started with the OKX explorer but often I had to cross check with one or even two of the other mentioned explorers. it takes time... and I'm a noob
2) Braavos transactions face the same explorer "problems", of course. but having a look at the explorer is revealing some more insights. they shouldn't come as a surprise as they are quite obvious when thinking about it.
for those who don't know, Braavos offers a browser extension and a mobile app. if you want to make things more secure, you can activate your mobile phone as a hardware signer. Braavos leverages the security chip of your phone, so the keys to sign are encrypted on your phone and no one can access them (not even you). this means:
a) you have to sign two times to execute a transaction, first time with the browser extension, the second time with your phone.
b) well, actually you have two transactions now which you can see on the explorer. usually, they have the same timestamp. and - probably you have guessed it already - each transaction requires gas. yes, activating the hardware signer almost doubles gas fees you have to pay. security has its price.
c) the activated hardware signer is preventing mobile use. 👀 quite ironic. or is there a way around?
d) a wallet like Braavos makes a hardware wallet obsolete, doesn't it? it is a hardware wallet (remember your phone?).
e) it's also some kind of multisig. the explorer reveals that it is calling sign_pending_multisig_transaction. makes sense.
keep in mind that I'm non-technical and everything written above might be total crap.
I'll continue to add the rest of the transactions the next couple of days and weeks.
