I've been collecting in-game items in video games and badges/flair on social media communities like reddit and even forums for as long as I've been an online citizen. To me, NFTs are this same concept but connected to a decentralized and portable identity. You own your digital goods and can keep them, transfer them, sell them, as you please. The better question is: why wouldn't you collect NFTs?
