- I think they both serve a purpose. I prefer free weights for weight training but often use the machines for interval work as well.

- I'm a home-gymer so I'm more limited with my exercise selections. When I first started I was 100% cult-of-barbell. Barbell everything, very minimalist powerlifting routines. 10 years later and older I much prefer a more bodybuilding style, with a healthy mix of barbell, dumbbells, machines, cables, etc.
I don't have machines at home, but I do have barbells, adjustable dumbbells, dip bar, landmine, and a cable tower, so I try to make full use of those for exercise variety. If I ever went back to a commercial gym, it would be to use the machines: hack squat, leg press, shoulder presses, chest supported rows, all of it...
- GM!!! Im a machine kinda person. I feel like my back is about to snap when I try the weights so for now I just do the machines lol Open to try again in the future but with a trainer or someone.
