**How does black and white photography make you feel?**
For the longest time, I had a inexplicable fear of shooting in black and white. As someone that is

- I think there is a huge myth about black and white photography and many people use it as a post filter to "provoke" a sort of "melancholia feeling" . Maybe is as a photographer friend used to say: who knows how to shoot well in black and white, can shoot wonderfully well in color too...
PS: congratulations for the collect! Lovely work, will follow you now 🙂
- Black and white photography is often considered to be more timeless and classic than color photography, and it can also be used to create a sense of mood and drama in an image.
- i think its totally fine, the thing about black and white photo is somehow our brain is programmed to perceive these type of photos/arts in a certain way through education, social media or even word of mouth throughout our life
as a result we just unconsciously keep our own conclusion, prejudice whenever we see black and white photos, and literally "skip" their true beauty
- Many, if not most, broadcast tv camera operators still prefer using black and white viewfinders bc it's all about composition and focus for them (they have no control of the color).
I'd say looking at B&W doesn't make me feel anything in particular, but it shifts the senses, focus, and intensity of what's felt for sure. It's most certainly harder to make a great image when you have less tools. That said, though, a master of a tool still exhibits mastery, and in that spirit here is a wonderful video about Harry Gruyaert you might enjoy. He's one of the first color photogs to gain respect from the old monochrome crowd.

- I personally love black + white photography/art. My nyc apartment was decorated with pieces I collected of the nyc stock exchange in 1918, a skyline view from queens, and a mad men poster. I lost them all during my move in 2020 so once I’m done with this nomad lifestyle and settle down, you can bet I’ll start collecting again 😎
- Many many years ago I had an SLR and would load it with b&w film all the time. I loved the texture and detail of those photos, and there was always something other-worldly about them.
- beautiful photography.
- Thank you @ryanfox.lens for collecting this photo 🤩 really appreciate it! 🥺
- I love it
- I know I don't work hard.
- A good BnW photo def feels harder to create, and more intense to view.
- B/W Photographs comes with a special kind of feeling. It's just feels different ..no colors , no judgement on colors. It's just umique
