So, fossil fuels will pretty much end in 50-80 years from now. How do we feel about it?
Comments
- Are we sure they will? Just take a look at what is being found in Antarctica or in Russia under the ice?
And even if, there will be enough other options I guess. EV, hydrocarbon, eFuel and maybe more. If something ends, it drives innovation.
- Yes, at current rates this is mostly correct, which is why we need nuclear now. Trad renewables literally can’t scale in time NRG will b through the roof and ppl will die but wut do I know lol
- Previous generations were too YOLO not to focus on a sustainable world.
At the same time, it's hard to change the inertia when the world is focused on short-term issues like COVID and wars.
Also, what will happen to Middle East countries that got rich recently due to exportation? They may become desolated if no new money stream comes, and climate change will hit hard. Changing the paradigm is hard when you are a money-printing machine.
- LET'S GROW
- We need V12 engines 🚘
- i feel like im pretty much be dead by then
- scare and excited
- Peaceful!✌️🌈
- Time to embrace green fuels.
- We have mixed feelings about the end of fossil fuels in 50-80 years. It's good because we need to use more sustainable energy to help the environment. But it's also bad because some people and industries depend on fossil fuels, and switching to new energy sources will be hard.
- i think fossil fuels will pretty much 300 years from now
- I wish it ends sooner.
I wished all the fossil fuels was in Europe not in the Middle east. This asset made middle eastern countries the worst places to live.
- shale with existing tech lasts for 100+ years. also huge unexplored areas on earth. Zero worries about oil running out
- we'll find some more in the Antarctic, and the treaty will come to and end, when ppl realize we still rely on fossil fuels too much
- Other sources of energy is on the verge already. Electricity is 90%cleaner than fossil therefor it's a good thing. Heard the discovery of lithium in some many parts of the world too but I have gone deep on how or what it's about
- i hope that scientists can find alternative methods for fossil fuels by then
- I remember every year ther has a news that oil is going to disappear in the next 5-10 years, But this news has been said for more than 20 years
- The shift away from fossil fuels is a necessary step towards addressing climate change and reducing our carbon footprint.
- There are countries where fossil fuels are a renewable resource, so not everything is so bad
- I think, we will run out of it, All migrates to solar or electric ways
- Not good of course. But alternative energy will be invented and things will be fine.
- that's why people reach out for alternatives. Electrical and solar energy could work. But its small amount of users diminishes the development of this industry. So far, our lives still mostly depends on fossil fuels.
- Oil production is not in decline at this time.
There is a narrative for developed countries with low oil reserves to increase their energy autonomy.
To enable the manufacture of clean machines, they need demand.
The 50-80 year estimate is related to official reserve estimates. There are deeper layers with more oil reserves. New technologies will emerge, increasing the efficiency of both sectors, but the oil war will not end anytime soon.
- By then we'll have different sources of energy to replace that.
- We should be converted to environmentally friendly energy.
- i think we will stop using them in less than 30 years
- It's important to explore alternative energy sources and promote sustainable transportation methods to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and mitigate their negative impacts.
- New energy will emerge.
- Hope science come up with new energy solutions 🙏
- The human race will finally adopt the energy resources that we have greedily overlooked and let mother earth breath. That is if she will not have wiped us off her face 🌿
- That is why lots of countries have begun investing heavily on renewable energy. A good example is Saudi announced the launch of a few renewable energy projects in 2022.
- green energy is the way forward. all electrical vehicles in 25yr must be there
- i wouldn’t think about that though😂, cos 80 years still kinda far😂
- We need to find a good source of Power from Now.
- New energy sources will replace them
- This is a good thing, we need clean energy to protect our common home, the earth!
- I believe that humans have extracted too much from nature.
- the new energy.
- We should have an alternative by then. So, I guess we will be fine. Hopefully.
- Solar energy is another substitute for it.
- I think we need a decentralised energy grid 🤣
- We feel like big industries and lobbys are well aware of it and they have the tech and the ressources to start selling you something else way more expensive that it really is, while acting like they saved us.
- I think it is good for the earth.
- I'm not sure unfortunately. The "only 50 years left" narrative has been around for ~100 years now
- Every one will depend on solar energy then
- It will end?
- Solar energy is another option..
- it's scary
We must think of an alternative way so that it does not cause problems for the future
- 50-70 years ?? I will b in living in meta verse meet you soon there with no physical body 😹💀
- Hydrogen is the truth 🙏
