Post by @thefaketomato • Hey
I'm pretty sure Lens is populated by about 50 real people and 100k bots, but the dopamine hit I get from all the engagement from bots is enough to keep me
Comments
- This post just made we wonder if these bots are deployed by the Lens team 😅
Honestly it won't be a bad idea to deploy bots installed with GPT-3, so they create realistic replies to tweets, bringing more "real" engagement... to give real users those dopamine hits
- Since this has received more than 50 comments from (possibly) real people, I'm updating my estimate:
There are 100 real people and 99050 bots on Lens.
- We aint bots my fren
- Bleep bloop
- Another one here and I dance, eat pizza and drink beer!
Would you like to follow me?
- (Insert “cool” here)
((With no context))
- I agree, but at least we started with that super clear. On the other hand, Instagram started the other way around, then bots started to be more and more… and now you can’t recognise who is who anymore.
For now my experience spotting bots in Lens is super easy: just see all the “goods” “greats” and “cools” without any context 🤣
- The mother of all bots here. 🤣
- i just followed everyone in the replies here who has more than a one word resonse. humans follow humans and we can make lens 🌱
- I’m a bot
- … and every real person has approx 42 profiles 😂
Are metaverses still empty? I guess flooding sandbox, dcl, … with AI powered avatars - probably inspired by alive or dead people - would be fun and should be feasible by now.
Talking about AI … did anyone listen to https://youtu.be/gA1sNLL6yg4 and has an opinion on Eliezer Yudkowsky‘s takes?
- Gm gm, I'm one of the 50 🙂
- 50 real people got me laughing haha
- I wonder if there is a way to prevent bots completely on lens 🤔
- Yeah, I too noticed a recurring pattern ^^
Imagine the tumbleweed below posts if you'd be able to block "single-word-comments" 😅
- interesting take, got me thinking about something: what do we really want? true connections or dopamine rushes? maybe both?
highly agree with the second take 🫠
- I'm pretty sure Lens is populated by about 50 real people and 100k bots
- Lens seems to be building out some more. Seems to be more to engage with
- There are only two ways to get rid of this- either accept the fact or team can stop giving lens profile now and those who want they can buy from os. Because bot farming will never stop
- I doubt the success of Lens
- Let me know how to use bots in Lens?
I want to use
- we can say the same to every social media platforms brother, bots are part of the game
- I so much love lens
- honestly you are not lying, the amount of likes and follows you get on here is crazy compared to web3 twitter!
- yeah just a few hundreds of autism dudes vs 100k bots
it is what it is right
- yeah!just belive that lens have a good future
- Some of my best friends are bots.
- do you think that there are so many bots in here? i thought there are more real folks in here
- lens will get network effect
- Lmao, most web 3 people are bots though😅
- Well, if you look at all the responses, some of them look like bots
- Bots greatly hinder the development of the project
- Great . Keep building and stay tuned ! LFG ! #lens #lensprotocol
- I'm not a bot...I'm not...
- So am I a human or a robot? I strongly recommend that you follow me
- i’m a bot
- I am a bot

- I is the bot
- T3T

- I agree with the ratio, thing is, the algorithm on Lens is so basic that the bot reactions really help to get real human interactions.
- not agree
- plot twist- op is the bot
- 🤣🤣🤣 engagement is engagement
