The current state of the Gaming world π
Lens community, how do we solve this?
Comments
- @mycaleum.lens I continue my take from here π
2 problems to solve :
1) Make good games
2) Create a PvP economy, like Poker where only a minority wins
**Sometimes I think about a PvP version for Aavegotchi which would resolve those 2 problems :**
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z87i6u27RSU
This is a video about a multiplayer mod in Hotline Miami, and this is the kind of game that suits well for GameFi :
- Fast-paced
- High skill cap
- No need for huge graphics
So we can "fork" this game and integrate Aavegotchi features, where Gotchis have a different gameplay depending on their stats. That would be up to 12 different stats to give (6 traits * 2 extremes) + a power depending on the token associated with their spirit force
**PvP economy**
An economy where everyone wins can't sustain, PvP is the best place for both players and protocol to be paid : players bet something, the protocol gets a fee (which can also be justified to incentive protection against cheating among others) and may the best win. In Aavegotchi, we have plenty of resources to bet on : GHST, Alchemica, GLTR...
Yes, this is a EV- game. Only a minority of players win the majority of bets. But assuming there is no cheating, this is not a big deal as winning only depends on your skills
Once those 2 issues are resolved, I don't see the point at staying in Web2 games anymore
- We need a GameFi hub on Lens!
- We have to create fun games that gamers can't help but play. When they actually use tokenized assets organically they will see the dissonance here.
- omg THIS. my bro will drop hundreds of dollars on LoL but thinks NFTs are stupid
- Still need to have good content, not only games but also musics, articles, Lens connects the contents with users
- Wen gaming and crypto community ?
- High quality games and the supporting information and trading market are real for users, short-term speculation cannot bring real value to the game and gamers
- Let's talk to the gamers. Their attitude towards nfts makes no sense to me
- The entertainment of NFT is too low
- By getting these game studios onboarded. There will ofc be web3 native games, but game development is a long process as can be seen with Illuvium.
- Media narratives aren't solvable unless you want to join the game. If you are old enough to remember how they treated free to play/pay to win mobile games, it's exactly like how they bully anything with the words "blockchain" "NFT" in them now. 10 years later pay to win still sucks based on their standards, so many families broken and lives taken, but none of these biased media will say a thing now because all the ad and sponsor money.
No NFT projects have been paying those media or big enough, while Valve is big enough for those media to not look for any trouble. Once blockchain games go mainstream, they will move on and seek another target to bully.
Being in the industry for over 10 years I've lost faith in game media clowns since ages ago.
- The art direction and/or gameplay of most web3 games is just awful right now.
- Teaching to the gamers
- Like most peeps have said: Give them one gud game, and the early influencers will influence a generation.
twitch enjoooyers opinions last less than my eth during nft szn
- The advantages of true digital ownership of your digital assets like eg. your identity (gamertag), weapon skins etc. shouldn't imply additional hurdles/friction. Those might be the payment process, security concerns etc. Here, recent developments possible due to the concept of account abstraction might help a lot to hide this complexity, increase the security and improve the UX in general. Moreover, the games itself need oc be top notch.
- A connection with good contents and traffic will be helpful to rebuild the usage of NFTs and GameFi's model
- necessary to concentrate on an efficient gamefi and not on the production of the game itself
- accurate af, same guys whos buying early digital game version at retail+++ to get this fockin goblin skin or whatever else and play it 3 days before mass, ofc no judgement at all
- we love the experimentation culture
- - Web3 Games that are as attractive in gameplay as Web2
- Mobile First to onboard
- Off-Chain minting without a wallet linked then the possibility to get assets as NFT / DC
-No need to pay to play + most games are selling assets before delivering
I could go onπ§ββοΈ
- NFTs are the future
- Blockchain + gaming is a nobrainer
- Depends on the size of the audience
- NFT is future
- but we can use those skins in-game and they have a use case π€·ββοΈ not these stupid monkeys
- NFTs are stupid π
- change nft name in super skin lol
- we are ...
- fgdsfg
- market will teach us!
- expectations
- We can't uwu. Only time and less pump and dump will solve it. Disliking crypto/nft is a whole personality trait now so that's gonna be hard
- Youβre making a real difference in the world.
- NFT crazyy's
- Exactly. This is my friendπ€£
- dau
- We are still early
- jajajaja
- Lol, pretty much.
