Good question, generally that's true, but peanut links are intended to be used ieither in a private channel (like, from a friend), from a trusted source (same as magic password links in web2) or as a QR code like POAPs. Also, we are a protocol, so it doesn't necessarily have to be links; anyone could build on us and e.g. create in-app peanut payments!
