Don't think this needs a debate haha Always friends over followers, although as a creator, you may also need the latter🌹
From a creator standpoint I think both hold a lot Of weight. And having the supporter section also holds weight I can’t say one over another. The people I call friends usually have my number.

I have asked before, do we still have to use this awful nomenclature in WEB3? Although 'friend' is a big word. How about combining friend and follower = friendell ? 😄😄😄
