- Thanks for your opinion @chaoticmonk.lens ! I agree on the fact that we should be able to express our opinions, but I believe there should be limits. Limits can't just be imposed from our side, society needs to impose them. Otherwise, it's just too easy...
Also, I just want to point something out: Yes, morals and ethics evolve with our society (and thank god they do..otherwise we would be still living in Ace age). BUT there are obvious things that we can't ever joke about, and here I'm talking about actions that will go against human rights/or hate speech against a typical group of people/religion. Sexism, racism, antisemitism ... even how much society will evolve, we can't ever say that feeling "superior" to a group of people is good.
Smoking marijuana and being racist are two different things. And I think it's important to point it out. We can't compare the incomparable.
Also, I find it sad, that some people choose to ignore some actions, because most probably the "bullies" are their friends. Sometimes it's important to keep our eyes open to what is truly happening instead of just ignoring... ans just because it's easier.
For me (and that's only me) I can't tolerate people being disrespectful, be it for a cause that is important to me or not...
There are things that happen under our eyes but we choose not to see - and this is something I find dangerous.
- very good point about moral & ethics being temporary in societies. Even here in Germany only 30 years ago it was totally ethical to label homosexuals as criminals and imprison them.
People have forgotten to reflect on mainstream opinions.
