I've tried a lot of customizers for the touchbar but nothing really worked so far, will give this one a go.

Yeah this one has made a noticeable improvement in my life. I use very little, just the main page with time date weather battery. And then when I hold command it shows CPU / RAM / Upload / Download. I almost never open Activity Monitor.
