lately it’s a bit challenging to find signal between all the noise. There are definitely people sharing great content and commenting amazing replies on posts. My personal experience though is that valuable replies / threads rarely happen out of the blue. Most of the time people replying most valuable are people I already had contact with on lens before. Regarding collect idk, I collect what I 🤍 ;-)
Hmmm so there is two intersting obseevations we made in regards to this. First follower only collects don’t always achieve the desired effect. For a more pure experience collects gotta be accessible to everyone. People collect what resonates with them. Sometimes it’s the high quality high effort work that really stands out to people. Sometimes it’s the mundane and simple moments of life that really hit a spot. When it comes to music we have seen pretty intersting results across the board. Liquidity is still a little dry (getting a lot better atm) so paid collects generally don’t hit like free ones. However we have seen some incredible large releases both paid (50+ collects) and free (600+ collects) for music on Beats. On problem we see is definitely with increasing mobile usage collects trend down because there is simply not a single mobile app with collects that work 100% of the time. Definitely something I hope we can improve on in the future because mobile is the endgame either way!
Yeah interesting reflections. I’ve had similar experiences. The lightweight stuff is easy to engage with and gets heaps of attention. Anything of more substance seems harder to get people to connect around.
It's really early, so there are people just randomly liking/sharing/collecting posts (my most collected post is a "gm" 😅), and other only collecting the one they feel valuable. We're all discovering what we can do and how to do it.
Don’t forget that you are incredibly early. The market is immature. The market is also trying to figure out how to use Web3. Don’t give up - the things you seek are being invested in by the billions. Quality infrastructure, tools, and even community all take time to establish. Xcopy for example has been at this for years….he wasn’t an OG right off the start.
No collect option
Ok...did some more digging on your observations...the settings on the post about your daughter's heartbeat song are off. I tried to collect from orb and couldn't. Tried from Lenster and the collect feature is not on for that post. Also comments aren't allowed which is weird
