No, I mean in Ireland we can't bring a knife to a potato because we love potatoes like we love our children. There is no difference, in fact. When a young Irish lad/lass turns 16 they have to go out to the "Great Potato Field" where a potato will pull itself of the ground if it has chosen them as its life guardian. From this moment on they raise the potato as their child. Once the potato is an adult it will embark on a long tumultuous journey to the Tayto Factory were no one knows what happens to them. (Taytos is an Irish crisp brand btw)
