Post by @stani • Hey
Feedback time! What do you like about Lens as a protocol? within the apps/integrators and experience? what do you don’t like? honest feedback needed :)
Comments
- The best thing about Lens is the people. The most "good vibes" network I've ever seen and certainly the vast majority committed, in one way or another, to the ecosystem. It really feels good to open the Lens feed.
One thing that bothers me as a creator and I'm reevaluating some things, is the impossibility of creating a consistent collection, because everything ends up disappearing in the feed, of course there are apps like Pinsta that help you organize, but this is also reflected in the secondary markets ... the ideal would be to be able to create posts within collections or posts that belong to the same smart contract and preferably to be able to name the token/collection... in addition to the organized metadata. 🙂 NFTs and social media are a perfect combination, just a little organization is needed for Lens to compete with other platforms focused only on NFTs....
- Bots.
Too much people just retweeting instead of creating.
We need more communities here with people who are really interested in lens development.
Still a lot wen token hunters.
I think Lens should integrate more researchers, youtubers even tik tokers in Lens.
- GM @stani.lens in addition to what has been said I would appreciate if we had our own Smart Contracts to execute through. Also an AI personal assistant for content creation.
But also I am upvoting:
- less bots
- quality content creators with various backgrounds
- multi chain
- pinned posts
- revamp of the UI
That said I love lens! It is currently my most favorite social media platform 💕
- On the frontend side, I'd love @memester.lens built in, so it's easy and fast to reply to a post with a meme or create one on the spot.
On the protocol side it'd be great to have your .lens identity be multichain. Maybe chainlink CCIP can help on this side.
.lens identity could also expand to become a proprietary wallet.
- permanently increasing the “luck surface area” ;-) making it as easy as possible to build on top of #lens. The API and providing data in BigQuery is imho veeeery clever.
Besides the obvious I think collects are the USP rn and in the foreseeable future. I think collects still have some room for improvement - especially when it comes to metadata. Imagine lens collects support more sophisticated metadata and some app helps generating them (eg ai empowered) - why should an artist mint somewhere else? ( https://lenster.xyz/posts/0x0f85-0x126f )
- Like @orbapp.lens @buttrfly.lens @lenster.lens @lenstubelogs.lens @wav3s.lens apps.
Don’t like-
No Music dedicated app
Too many bot accounts.
MATIC only chain. Would love to see other chains, especially FTM as Fantom underrated chain with great Dev’s, Creator & Defi communities
- Totally just trying to work out a way to get the bigger names here so the spam content improves. I don’t want to use Twitter. Farcaster has better content so how can lens get better.
- Dislike: bots and fake engagement
Like: engaging people are really awesome ones. Community+++
Ideas: Future Lens DAO should fund great social projects
- would love to see more diverse collect mechanics for esp for artists & creators, I have a few ideas but "limited time" free collects are at the top of my list.
- MATIC is bit slow sometimes. Own sidechain would be great IMO
- Don’t likes : no shared accounts official option
- I feel like there should be easier ways to connect w people who haves similar interests. Maybe an ability to find friends not only from Twitter but also discord and telegram not sure
- See here https://orb.ac/post/0x13f3-0x026c
I already wrote something together.
- Better data.
- Lens should bw more faster, dapps building on it need more advertise and promotion.
Cool music nfts coming....
Creators and developers need to be onboarded more
- i reckon there is a significant delay time of onchain verification on any action i make on Lens, let see how Polygon zkEVM can do later this month, or moving Lens to another chain is considerable
- tbh lower collects i miss the days when i could make.05 to collect1 is too high
- My one and only problem is Bot accounts. Otherwise #LensProtocol and ecosystem is best 👍
- haven't read the comments, admittedly. so everything has probably been mentioned.
Lens/Lenster (not sure who is responsible) doesn’t execute properly onchain when collecting (no collects but also double collects).
the Lenster NFTs should have proper titles and metadata. they look cheap on marketplaces with titles like "post by".
OpenSea doesn't display all NFTs.
fake engagement.
got to know many great artists. 😊
- I like the diversity of content. Feels like you’re innovating on content/community just as much as you are on the tech.
- I come to lens to get away from the negativity and echo chambers of twitter. My hope is that an app can build a positive-sum algorithm that shows me nice things and makes me feel good, while still being informed and entertained. Twitter sucks, and the incentive system is f*cked. I leave feeling bad, a lot of the time. I'm here for a better incentive system that combats human biases and tendancies for negativity/anger/tribalism. Partly this is about app-builders and their algorithms, but on the protocol level, I wonder if app-builders could use more metrics to build better algorithms?
- I hope others can pay attention to and use my personal website.
- I like the way Lens is developing. Everything is conveniently and coolly done. But, there are moments that I don't like. It's the view function of your post. It doesn't show how many people have viewed your post. There is no distribution of how your post can get into recommendations to other people, it's poorly implemented. Too many bots to deal with. This is what needs to be fixed in my opinion.
- Hi! I like the friendly interface of Lens website, Lenster and Orb apps. There are some drawbacks for me, firstly, the option with setting the price for collection of posts is hidden in Lens, it's misleading: it's not obvious that you have to press the button to enable collection of your post.
Secondly, in Lenster my feed gets lost in all the mirrors that I do, so.. I have to really think if I'd like to mirror someone's posts - which is sad, i like mirroring posts, but then my feed looks like patchwork. As a creator I would like to have a cohesive feed and have some separation of my posts and the other posts.
Thirdly, It's a good idea to have a better guidelines about paid follow subscription and how it works - right now I couldn't find information about it and how to use it properly. All in all, my experience so far is great, and the community is very supportive here.
- Even though there are apps like Lenstube & Beats, I find myself posting all videos & audio clips on Lenster as I know they will show up on these other platforms regardless. Makes me wonder what's the value add to having these different platforms? Maybe there's a way to make each of them more exclusive while still staying interoperable.
Lenstube tends to be laggy & glitchy with uploading videos which is why I just chose to do it on Lenster.
This could be my ignorance, but my question is, what's the true value of having all of these other platforms if you can do it all on one?
As I ask that question, I'm thinking that it's more valuable for the user, once it's more accessible & mobile friendly?...
Also, maybe it would be helpful for collectors to see what TYPE of collect is each post more clearly. For example, if It's a free collect, vs a paid collect maybe there's a green circle that displays on the top left/right. And if it is a paid collect, maybe there's a price tag on it haha. The price tag may be a bit much, but you get what I'm saying. Making it easier for people who are just scrolling through Lens.
I definitely have thoughts working with the Lens platform for our creator grant. Like what's the end goal? We interact a lot with non-web3 native Musicians, and I believe the greatest value add for them is that every single person on Lens is in Web3 which gives them direct access to web3 network. I'm not sure if Lens is looking at it this way, but I think this is the way. Would love to talk more about this if interested!
- What I love: No adds, th3 ability to monetize content on the platform, the web 3 community, the ease at which small dev teams can build something that plugs into Lens, also like the lack of long threads. Some in my view actually want threads....I only want them if I can see the thread in order lol. Ok, the don't likes: lack of a pinned post.......that's pretty much h it for me
- I love the protocol because of it's transparency and community true growth of lens , we do need to up our social media game.
It's a web3 social platform we need to start treating it as one , more creators and contents, less bots, push notifications on lenster.
Lenster has the best interface and deserves more than a web browser access.
- What I like:
It's not yet decentralized, but it's web3 (huge one)
Anyone can build their own dApp on the protocol.
What I don't like:
- There is no pinning of posts.
- There is no quote mirror.
- (Not related to Lens, but a prerequisite) For the huge success of Lens, it is necessary for people to become familiar with the world of web3, which is very difficult. Lens needs to do something so that the news spreads worldwide and everyone talks about it, so people are encouraged to use it.
I know it's kind of impossible for now (when the world is not even familiar with Bitcoin or Ethereum, but any web3 guy can tell their frens about Lens, and it's quite possible)
- I like everything that's build on lens, each apps on lens have much potential to improve. Orb is doing much faster than our expectation. Few hurdles we have will go over in long run.
1. Slow network.
2. Till now good purpose to use lens is it's control on own hand. But usecase need to be more like music nfts collection.
3. Reviews of each profile like 5,4,3,2 ⭐⭐⭐
4. 🎮games.
5. Public version.
- Really enjoy the easy to use of this app, mostly using Lenster 😀
- I like Lenster and Lenstube apps.
- The way the lens protocol built and it revolutionized the web3 space in recent times and apps built using lens protocol are amazing and data was added to all the platforms when posted in single medium which is a cool feature
- I just recently got my lens profile, but so far I really like the experience. I think I big hurdle is network effects, it's just so much more valuable the bigger it gets.
- I love Lenster, so easy to use.
- Likes:
- lively, lot of people interacting with each other
- on blockchain and decentralized - This is really amazing feat for a DESO - Bright future IMO
- people on Lens are amazing, the communities here are the core value of Lens IMO
- The style of presentation is pure, simple great stuff
Improvement proposals:
- UI could be slicker, but this is really personal, so I am not sure about a real improvement here, but maybe do some sort of UI competition so that Lens gets a new UI
- probably many, but I will read all comments and then propose...
- I like most it is decentralized. I like Lenster and Lenstube apps. I would love to see native chain in future and friendly for phone users. What I don't like Lens apps take little bit longer time to load and sometimes even failed.
- Better data.I like Lenster and Lenstube apps.
- I like Lens because it has a user-friendly interface and a lot of features that allow you to maintain your profile and share different thoughts. It's also convenient that you can support authors by subscribing to them and collecting their articles
- Honestly, I like everything. It's a place where I can express my thoughts freely and people with machine guns won't come after me. There is true decentralization and anonymity - for me this is the most important thing when using any product. Lens is slowly becoming the number 1 social network for me! The only thing I don't like is that only Lens profile holders can access it. I would like to see my friends here and communicate with them. But they can afford to buy access here. That's probably the only drawback.
- Hi, I really like the UI experience of Lenster, however, I think there's some potential function that might improve user experience.
First, you can add a switch image button when the user looking at large-size pictures on lenster.
Also, I actually send some advice through contact us function last time, and I find out it kinda hard to explain my question, it could be helpful if deve team can add an upload image function in the contact us function.
Thx for asking for the user's advice. Keep building Lens team WAGMI.
- Enjoying using lens so far. The UI is intuitive. Adding a hide NFT function would be nice and the speed of posting can be a bit slow
- I like the application of lens, and it can be released freely here, so that users can learn more content, here is a huge super application
Don’t like-
No Music dedicated app
Too many bot accounts.
MATIC only chain. Would love to see other chains, especially FTM as Fantom underrated chain with great Dev’s, Creator & Defi communities
I think Lens should integrate more researchers, youtubers even tik tokers in Lens.
- hi @stani.lens 🙂 my experience so far, everything is perfect, dapps are linked together. I wish the lens had a live feature.
- i like it because it make up in web3.
but it seems i cant see what i want to see in the lens
lens should konw what we want to see that we always see.
i hope it will change a lot for that lens recommand things what i love.
❤️
- **Firstly**, using the Matic chain exclusively can be unreliable at times, so we hope to see Lens expand to other chains like OP or Arb in the future.
**Secondly**, there are currently too few influential people using Lens. We hope to attract more influential figures in the crypto world, and perhaps this will improve once Lens registration is open to the public.
**Thirdly**, the collect feature is great, and we hope to see it utilized even more effectively in the future.
Lastly, while there are many products and applications within the Lens ecosystem, there hasn't been a breakout hit yet. We hope that Lens can provide strong support for talented developers and build a successful product together.
- Love to use lenster**🌿** just wishing the some bugs of lenster will improve in time
- I like lens and want to be in control of my data, but the speed is so clunky that it sometimes makes me cranky. Asking someone with traditional social software to use lens is like asking someone with 5G network to use 3g network
- Lens is easy to use.
A bit slow at times.
❤️
- What I like the Lens coz its free talk for most topic and without any traceable link
It is the root of de-social media (need some check/approval from Lens office of course)
And the home page should integrated with some in-time crypto news and spinned posts
A tiny suggestion: to issue some valuable NFT to those valuable posts
- If Lens has an app, it will be easier for people to use.
