I gather that’s why people create online versions of themselves that filter only the happy and successful parts of their lives. It’s well known that what we see on social media is mostly a staged version of someone’s life. Only the best meals, nicest clothes, perfectly composed selfies... I mean, I don’t quite see many pictures of people waiting in line at the grocery store, cleaning their toilets, or sitting on the couch watching tv in their pyjamas. The general sentiment of the virtual world we surround ourselves with is primarily a false representation of real life. Unless there is some cataclysmic shift in human behaviour, it probably will remain that way. So, my approach is befriend the most down-to-earth, honest people you can find online, and accept that the rest of it is mostly just make-believe. ✌🏼
