- Sure! Its just starting out (IE just me and whatever I can do with no budget and some networking haha), but AESOP is intended to be a chamber of commerce for the web3 publishing industry. Chambers of commerce are a certain type (501c6) of nonprofit organization, with the goal of promoting a given industry. Could be a chamber for all businesses in a given city, or a chamber for a given industry across geographic zones, like AESOP (in our case, global if possible).
In more concrete terms, this could take the form of creating free/accessible resources for the industry ( https://www.aes0p.org/resources ), helping platform writers/translators/editors/etc ( https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QRMrkPImXm8jjnlBF04kzrPds9Q8yOyaqzzfxvzjUdQ/edit#gid=0 ), helping facilitate the adoption of technical standards (right now some of us are experimenting with web3 on-chain book metadata standards), and eventually (ie once we get funding) we can move into the sphere of advocacy/lobbying, IRL event planning, etc. But right now, I'm just looking for stuff we can do while we don't have a budget.
It could also be a cool experiment in using on-chain governance to innovate upon best practices for chambers of commerce, IE if an industry's worth of stakeholders can actually coordinate on-chain. Imagine if 10,000 writers/publishers/translators/etc all voted to approve a an upgrade to a smart contract which managed a book registry or a yellowpages-like directory.
Happy to go into more detail! Here is the site: https://www.aes0p.org/
