Post by @stani • Hey
When you were growing up, did you get any education on how to manage your finances in school?
Comments
- one of the main reasons I studied business & finance was because I thought I was missing that part of education in school
- Nope.. literally nothing about financial literacy
- Governments do not give students information about money. This is a strictly planned program.
- No, but we were taught how to write a check…ancient history
- Nah. Hadn't a clue about money until I got interested in crypto. Then I bought a few books to learn about money while I was buying ETH.
- Nope! And I’m surprised by all of the “no’s” here from different countries. I thought it was just Americans delinquent in financial education.
- Lol. No. The banks want us to be dumb with money.
- all post soviet educational system is like, nah, forget it.
- Not at all. The more I study (by myself), the more I get convinced that the schooling system of most countries is completely screwed.
If I had kids, I'd be very reluctant to send them there, for the incredible waste of time they'd experience
- yes, they taught me what happens when a man buys 420 watermelons and sells them next day for 6.9 dollars less.
I still apply it everyday in crypto.
- I wish! I think life would be a lot different.
- yes they said "kid, one they you'll sell some fries for a dollar, than two, than eventually a couple thousands... don't ever take fries for granted kiddo" and he were are! lmao
- Great point! But unfortunately, no.
- No and it's amazing how many no's we see here from around the globe.
That only indicates that governments have interest to keep people in the dark in order to control the little citizens.
- None lol
- Nah 🤣
- ✨No✨ why do you think I’m balls deep in crypto
- That’s why we all broke today lol
- all they said is "ape in"
- none of my classmates had money to manage 😆
- i got some education on how to manage my treats
- thousands of NO, unfortunately
I get ZERO knowledge from school on this topic
- No, the system is not designed for you to get ahead 👀
- No ser
- Nope
- None
- “Keep them poor”
- No
- When you were growing up, did you get any education on how to manage your own thoughts/feelings in school?
- No at all ! Even our teachers didn't know money management .
- No financial literacy education. It came with self development through reading.
- School does not teach you about money.
I got to understand money when I read "Rich dad poor dad" by Robert Kiyosaki.
- Nothing for personal finance at shool
- I grew up in California and did not. Most of what I learned was from family and friends helping build my credit score early on.
My first jobs were all paid in cash and I couldn't believe the amount of money taken out of my paycheck automatically once I got my first salary wage job.
- In this case "NO" I think my teacher was the fact that if I exhausted my money, I would have to watch lots of people I call friends "Lie" to my face about 1000 reasons why they don't have money to help me.
So I learned from the ultimate teacher " EXPERIENCE".
- not exactly. only learnt personally and from parents
- The only lesson i learnt: never spend money on sth you don't really need. Question: Is the art of saving also a different kind of investment?
- NO,The school asked us how to pass the test papers.
- I taught my daughter how to buy altcoins when she was 3
- No, learned lessons the hard way :-)
- No one teaches that. It is by default the responsibility of the parent
- Not at all.. but I learned from the movies 🌚
- I learned it myself; you should rely only on yourself
- No sir.. Self taught.. Still learning..
- No. I'm learning it myself.
- Field trips for school events were educated up to $10 per person.😊😊
- never and that’s why am on lens, to learn taxes
- only taught to be a corporate slave !!!
- No sir... Self thought. Still learning...
- All self taught. And Im not saying I know a thing or 2.
