Yeah, for sure, web3 engineers have to understand the core concepts of what EVM is and the tools around it. All I’m saying is, for example, Ethereum geth nodes save all their state on level-db, which is a web2 tech - a lot of core principles when designing Ethereum nodes would have taken inspiration from web2 passed successes and tech. They used their web2 knowledge mixed with web3 knowledge to build something super powerful, and without the web2 expertise and tools, they wouldn’t have succeeded. The top-class engineers in the space have to know both.
