- So yeah, in a way Artifact is looking at the data and doing the same things that we would do with NFTs. They’re looking at your attention, your shares, your comments, etc in the same way that an app on Lens could analyze collects.
I’ve shared this before, but when Instagram enabled NFTs they sadly only saw them as collectibles. I saw them as really explicit data points. I was telling IG exactly what podcasts I listen to, what clothing I wear, my education, etc. They could’ve built feeds and new products with this info.
Also, Casey (I’m not a big fan btw) missed one of the more interesting features of Artifact: when you share an article it notifies you when that person has opened it.
- Yeah! I’ve been using it since Feb 23! Ben Thompson interviewed Kevin and Mike, touching on the same points. Ben kept saying it was clearly going to become a social app with a twist, bc it already kinda was. And he was right.
It’s a great app!
