Filter would be great. So I can filter them and everyone else could see them if they want to.

Exactly this way the system could learn and apply auto filter with other metrics, like user is x days old and so on. Plenty options available
It also creates good data, so if multiple people are hiding comments, it means that the comments from that person isn't valued (i.e. spam)
