How could Lens as a protocol support more creators?
Comments
- 1. Open it to the public (let everyone pay for their own gas or buy 'gas credits' so one doesn't have to sign every time). If a creator stumbles upon Lens on the Internet and wants to test it out, they can't. I can only speculate how many creators stumbled upon Lens but then walked away because it's not permissionless.
2. Who is Lens actually for? IMO we need a clearer signal out in the public. Is it competing with Twitter Farcaster? Zora? Or is it in a league of its own?
If it's creator-focused then how can they use their current work sitting on other chains on Lens or how/if they could use their Lens posts interoperably on other marketplaces?
- well, this is not really an answer to your question. it's more like an observation.
the collect feature is a strong asset of Lens. however, (paid) collects only support a rather small number of artists here. at least that's my impression. too many artists fly under the radar.
there has to be some kind of artist discovery built in that doesn't consider popular posts or something like that. however it's questionable if this should happen on the protocol layer (I'd say, no) or on the app layer.
but even if Lens had the perfect artist discovery/amplification there aren't enough collectors (again, that's my impression). the small number of collectors simply can't support all artists here.
so the question is if Lens wants to and can be the all-in-one solution for all artist's needs or if it leaves the monetary aspect to other platforms like Zora, Sound,... that apps like @lens/buttrfly already integrate.
this sounds negative although I think that Lens provides the most advanced, crypto native feature set.
- Access without permission in the first place. Lens has excellent tools for monetization, but it’s difficult for me to onboard my audience and other creators here in the existing registration format; everyone I show it to calls it too complicated.
- I would say the only thing that could be done at this point would be to go public. Otherwise, all other support is really just preparation. After on-boarding, it should really be more of a free market. But also, making a place for creators to meet creators would be helpful.
- Hi, I have been creating and writing stories for some time now, yet I struggle to reach a wider audience.
My entire model of story evolution, from text to comics to animation, is based on people's support. I'm open to suggestions on how to connect with more users who want to have a say in how stories develop into something greater and benefit from the outcomes.
- https://zora.co/ has excelled in supporting creators, offering an incredibly user-friendly onboarding process. with just one email, you can seamlessly mint your first piece and earn rewards !!!
pure inspiration +++
- smoother onboarding
- Yes definitely in due time !
- Built in tools for giveaways, better analyzing of user, something like ad targeting paid into a treasury (if there was one), vampire attack other not necessarily with a token
- I think in-game (in-protocol) currency that creators can earn based on their activities, every like/activity does count, if creators earn from protocol, they will bring each other here. then the next billion can come. maybe in the future a shared of governmental token pool would be great
- Superare style auction mechanic perhaps, with milestones to hit to earn the invitation to participate (carrot) - quarterly awards for different categories (photography, music, graphic/ai etc) with some kind of prize / exposure
- Ser, Lens has such cool features we want it to open to public with some creator centric incentives, would also be great if you support the only lens dapp in the shefi round https://explorer.gitcoin.co/#/round/10/0xf22182afea4698379d35d41a72a0a9a6e9b70697/0xf22182afea4698379d35d41a72a0a9a6e9b70697-16
- With $LENS 🪂
- public Lens
- Open the ecological protocol and then govern by doing nothing. The lens is a protocol layer, not an application. Don't think about it all day long. Do you want to destroy it?😑
- Providing built-in logging mechanism at par like web2 logging by using ERC-6551
So that creator can easily onboard there user

- By providing collaboration opportunities
- Check access protocol creator staking model
- give them profile
- i like the sealed_art stake-scriptions idea. idk if they are on here. it's like they combined pooltogether/blast and patreon (and foundation)
- Make possible for them to receive fiat payment in their crypto wallet
- by hugging
