There are way better people than me to answer this. I do appreciate the work of Ardoino's various projects where, for example, holepunch.to integrates lightning payments. I'm generally comfortable with Bitcoin being a payments network. Not sure it needs to be more than that. If it manages to be one of the main networks for settling payments world-wide, that's a huge achievement, isn't it.
