the problem is mirrors, imho. I've touched the topic here: https://lenster.xyz/posts/0x218b-0x02a7 also @chopan.lens has written about it. some people don't engage at all but mirror posts that offer a reward fee. there are posts that have no engagement other than mirrors or there are 30 mirrors but only 2 collects. I guess, we have to understand that mirrors are more than retweets given the financial factor. so they (could) drive the wrong incentives. looking at my profile there are way more mirrors than original posts (I don't think I have ever profited from mirrors, though). but there are a lot of comments and a reasonable amount of collects. usually, I mirror a post if I've collected it or consider it interesting for other reasons. also I have to admit that - apart from two or three times - I have never collected from mirrored posts. I always go back to the original post. I see that mirrors can amplify good content. that's great. there should be an option in the protocol that everyone can mirror a post but can only be rewarded if they also collected.
I kind of agree with the overuse of mirrors. But I also think once apps are able to start utilizing profile interests, the feeds will become a little more useful for users. Having multiple feeds and prioritizing posts by people you don't follow with similar interests could help with the issue of seeing the same posts temporarily dominating feeds due to mirrors. I'd hope that to could also drive more commenting / deeper engagement
