Interesting, I had never thought about this historicist view of digital culture and that it really creates holes in the chronology. (The other day someone posted a photo of Geocities and made me curious to see what I had "posted" there...) This led me to look for a website dedicated to independent music called IUMA, still from the pre-era era. MP3. And to my surprise, the Internet Archive still maintains a collection of nearly 50,000 songs accessible. It would be interesting to see some actions of groups or companies in migrating, this and other contents, with cultural relevance, to a decentralized structure, in the sense of preserving digital history...
