- I agree with you, and to be honest, one of the dynamics I see in Music NFTs is just this. imo, they will come to be regarded similarly to streetwear
Most people, imo, will want to buy and “consume” Music NFTs for the social prestige they offer, the scarcity and exclusivity that come with them, not necessarily for the genuine value Music NFTs bring to both the artist and the fan
imo, with people increasingly bragging about what they own digitally rather than physically, the appeal of limited edition Music NFTs, akin to winning a 'Golden Egg', becomes more pronounced. Whether the prize is a hoodie, another song, a video, or something else, this exclusivity will heighten their desirability
I envision music NFTs evolving to symbolize social status, becoming similar to streetwear. On one hand, there will be collectors who support artists or connect with specific songs, and on the other, individuals drawn to the status and prestige these NFTs represent
If I think about streetwear, many wear it because they identify with the culture and have fallen in love with it, while others wear it genuinely for the social status they receive when seen owning a specific piece
This parallels the streetwear culture, where some are drawn to it for its cultural resonance and personal affinity, while others 'wear' it for the social praise associated with certain brands or pieces
And I think that this will change the way music is consumed, similarly to how fashion is consumed today.
So yeah, as I said, I'm not sure if this would be a dynamic that Music NFTs will necessarily follow, but in my opinion, it is definitely something that can happen and, as you said, may have an impact on music consumption as well🌹
