good point, but... let say cash would be backed by gold as before, meaning that cash would be commodity. Why wouldn't it work in this case?

Would work with commodity backed cash. if we still had gold/silver/commodity backed cash and we wouldn't have had this level of inflation. Getting rid of commodity backed cash was the biggest economic scam pulled by the governments around the world.
