Yup, that's my interpretation, at least for some of the reasons. We're already redefining the incumbent, institutional way of doing finance. So let's apply that methodology to health R&D. Why longevity research in particular though? Maybe due to that field running into a lot of hurdles in the existing system, perhaps for doctrinal reasons (“don't mess with the natural process of aging”). But these hurdles seem to go away when done through a decentralized system where green-lighting and funding isn’t decided by a few people. VitaDAO in particular has had some success with applying crypto to these problems.
