I don't think it works 🙂 I suppose that to pay for this, the government would cut resources from public services and transfer part of this responsibility to the private sector or would have to increase tax collection... But in fact, some are going to use this universal income to have fun or increase wealth while others will use that money to survive. Nothing changes. The path, or destination, of money will always be the same: from bottom to top 🙂 In my opinion, the UBI is more of a political-ideological discourse that falsely appeals to a supposed freedom of choice, but does not solve the most important problem, which is the increase in inequality... it only removes part of the government's responsibility for solving problems and play the role it exists for.
