Nowadays Lens looks a bit like Zora converted into a social feed. It's good for visual artist, creators and musicians but I believe we'd need some more div
Comments
- I agree, I want more conversation and connection/discovery through conversation here. I found last year I was doing that alot on lens so I know it’s possible.
I love the long form posting that can be done here, but understand it’s a different psychology/user than art/visual attention spans. Would be cool if there was a conversation/written content feed we could access more easily so we can switch between the types of content we want to see/create/engage with
- Accurate. I think incentives for Lens surround art versus general social interaction. $bonsai fueled this but I think we can use $ 00 to tip words.
- One complaint I have is that my feed is pretty much only people that I don’t follow, and that’s the case on both Hey and Orb for some reason. Having more options for feed options would be nice, but getting a simple view of latest posts by profiles you follow would be nice…
- I want both
- I upload some stuff to Zora cause I launched a smart contract 2 years ago but it's pretty slow for me. It does like nice as a feed.
Not doing $BONSAI collects at the moment, just no content as of now. Not buying either. Not with $ 9 in my wallet that I can't even take out. I made a post for pointless, 00, chaos may be coming and others.
I'll see how it plays out, I'll be building my own thing in the background.
- Content diversity ✔️
- Valid points and it's certainly good to have a discussion about it ✌️
Regarding collects&co:
My prediction still is, that the collecting amounts will regular themselves down the road. If nobody collects "low quality" content - or good content that's priced too high, either the prices adjust or people stop posting that kind of content. Let's not forget that the collecting run that Bonsai pretty much started is still fairly new - it's gonna take a bit of time until the meta settles in.
BUT:
Nothing is stopping anyone from bringing up good topics or start a conversation. Nothing stops anyone from participating in one. Your post here is a prime example for that. Lens gets filled with content from the people on it - and if there's enough interest in some specific content, people eventually going to deliver on that.
It certainly would be helpful tho to make it easier for people to spot/find the content they're looking for. Afaik most devs building platforms on Lens are open to good suggestions on how to achieve that.
- I couldn't agree more
So many times I've considered my reason for staying.
I've tried asking questions that suppose to derived an actual conversion or go a little bit deeper than the surface and it's just didn't happen.
Ppl are better at posting a landscape or a cat photo for the bonsai or the likes
And i really felt that i lack of real value.
You really hit the spot.
I would appreciate much more diversity, idea spread, insights and actuall discussion.
Thanks for sharing.
- Couldn't agree more
@lens/dankshard really hit the spot 4 me
- True, we should have more feed filter options to see that.
I love shit posting and such, but nothing is better than a great thread of ideas and discussions.
But if you look better, they’re still hapenning here and there.
Perhaps a new Orb club for this would help?
- We're losing sight of the Garden with all these $bonsai trees.
- Finally someone said it !! I’m not an artist !! But then I’m being pressured to become one here 😂. It’s crazy ! I just want to have fun n shitpost !!
- I am honestly sick of AI generated arts, particually Bonsai trees
- You are onto something here.
- I agree, all type of content creators should be welcome not only artists. I did some analysis and add you said most of the collects are type images. Would be great having more diversity and more people to have conversations on other topics
- Agree ! We need to have more informative posts from the community.
- Thoughts 100 $ 00
- 100% agreed. it would be awesome if @lens/hey could introduce a communities/channel kind of feature for more long form writing and curation.
- Every social media has its own trends, maybe informative posts will me trendy someday ;)
- yeah we need more ways to generate conversations and real time updates 🫶🏼
- I agree that we definitely need diversity here. Way too many AI generated images without depth or a story. Which should have category on around own. And way too much talk about crypto. I understand most users came from crypto but we need more life here. Bonsai is amazing tool to reward creators and Inspire them to continue in the same direction. I took on a challenge creating videos and talking about various topics. Hope people will join me on this tough journey. 🥰 Let's create what we feel is missing.
- Content diversity is def really important, so agree.
- Thanks to your amazing comments i noticed a big issue. There is no quick way to tag people in your reply. I have to go into every single profile, follow, write down the tag. And then tag them manually. This is way too long. It Should be easier. I believe there should be a bar on the side where you can drag and drop every user you come across that you feel might enjoy your virtual company or reply.
- 💯this is exactly why I became so upset with everything and took time away.
- Great feedback. I am also much more interested in text based posts than visual art. Something that helps me a lot these days is using the "Following" filtered feed instead of the "For You" one
- It’s fun to see the experiment play out. I do agree it’s hard to get a meaty convo going on here. Usually you get a couple replies under a post but the conversation fizzles out once it’s about a day old. Perhaps the algo on here focuses more on new content over trending / tailored content?!

- Yo, I feel you on the lack of convo and info on Lens lately. It's all about the $$$ with those posts, but is that really sustainable? We need more diversity and real talk up in here. Let's keep it real and not just chase the BONSAI, ya know?
