- To explain through an example, one of the most prevalent forms of discrimination has historically been related to the body size of people featured in ads and modeling. Brands and designers often sought the slimmest individuals, disregarding other body types. This, in my opinion, was one of the significant issues
However, I feel there has been a shift in the air, with consumers rising against this trend and demanding to be heard. Brands and designers have started to become more open-minded, embracing a wider range of body types. There are now more models who challenge the idealistic and foolish standards of the fashion industry
This is the simplest example I can provide, highlighting the lack of inclusivity in the fashion industry. While progress is being made, there is still a long way to go before true inclusivity is achieved
There are other aspects to consider, such as the process of becoming a designer, where certifications and connections often play a larger role than talent alone. However, that is a separate issue. Digital fashion is poised to revolutionize this landscape, offering talented but overlooked designers an alternative path into the industry
Also, thank you for your kindness and empathy, Amanda. It is not the first time I feel them!🌹
