Das Malmöer Kunstmuseum befindet sich zusammen mit dem Malmö Museum im Malmöhus Slott, dem ältesten erhaltenen Renaissanceschloss Skandinaviens.
Das Kunstmuseum in Malmo beherbergt eine der großten schwedischen Sammlungen skandinavischer Kunst des 20.
Jahrhunderts. Neben einer einmaligen Sammlung russischer Kunst aus der Wende zum 20. Jahrhundert zeigt das Museum auch eine große Sammlung kunsthandwerklicher Arbeiten aus Südschweden.
Neben der ausführlichen Präsentation von regionaler, skänischer Malerei findet man auch einige Sammlungen bekannter, schwedischer Künstler, wie z. B. eine Sammlung von Kunstwerken des bekanntesten schwedischen Landschaftsmalers Carl Fredrik Hill.
In der Dauerausstellung wird die Entwicklung der Malerei und der Möbelbaukunst vom 16. Jahrhundert bis heute gezeigt. Aufgebaute Einrichtungen zeigen die verschiedenen Stile innerhalb unterschiedlicher Epochen, von der Renaissance bis zur Postmoderne.

The Sami are an indigenous people with their own language, flag and culture. Sápmi - the land of the Sami - extends across the northernmost part of Finland, northern Norway's coast and inland, northern Sweden and the Kola Peninsula in Russia. There are about 80 000-100 000 Sami in the world.
In 1977, the Sami were recognised as an indigenous people by the Swedish Riksdag. Since 2011, the Constitution of Sweden has stated that the opportunities for the Sami people to preserve and develop a cultural and social life of their own must be promoted. The Sami have also been recognised as one of Sweden's five national minorities.
The Sami Parliament - which was established in 1993 - is both a parliament elected by the Sami and a government agency in Sweden that works on matters concerning Sami culture, economic activities and language.

- Visby, established in the 12th century as a Viking stronghold, is the best preserved North European walled town. The town of Visby is Gotland's largest village and a UNESCO world heritage site that showcases cobblestone streets and ancient ruins.
