Tips and advice for time management? 👇
Comments
- this book has a very simple methodology <https://maketime.blog/>
also prioritization quadrant
but the best hack of all -> do less stuff... really
- @lens/focustree_app :-) I like <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomodoro_Technique>
- More meetings. No time, no mgmt
- Do everything simultaneously. Finish nothing.
- More than management, the real killer is “Context switching”. We need to avoid going from task to task when they are not related.
What really helped me was putting time slots on calendar and organize them by color (topic), same for tasks, and try to get them all together.
You can play around but the idea is to have at least 2hs of straight focus for each topic.
- I think what suits each person is a personalized mix, I’ll share what I tried
There is time blocking
Making clusters of the fields of life that you have most tasks or matter more to you
Minimising priorities up to 3 each day ( if using clusters then 1 priority each)
Breaking down each task either super detailed (like one does one a notion template) or a either super minimal (again depends on your style)
Do the most important tasks at the start of the day
Set a reward system for each task done either internal or external based depending on what works for you
Make room for rest and self care + fun time to avoid burning out and/or feeling trapped and doom scrolling, generally distractions that just drain u
Dedicate a day at the end of the week to reevaluate what worked and what didn’t and change it up for the next week. This can be expanded to a monthly, trimonthly etc base
The most important imo is having in mind to be flexible and not absolute in any time management system as to not to kill joy and creativity and being able to perceive what needs to change
Hope any of these help!
- a wise chaman once told me: change time management for energy management, study how your energy flows through the day and through the week, follow your flow.
And this advice is from Bezos: if you are stressing about something, that's the call on what you have to do.
- maybe not the practical answer you're expecting - but journalling and meditation in the morning mean I go into the day with a much more clear head and use my time so much more effectively 💚
- I struggle with this mainly because I attempt to accomplish too much in a day, and then unexpectedly, another hundred tasks arise that weren't planned
However, I believe that if we prioritize our tasks based on their importance and adhere to the concept of 'less is more,' we can earn a significant amount of time and end each day feeling successful🌹
- i suck at this. Tried everything lol 😢
- What I personally follow: Just do the top priorities for the day. If you can’t do it today and it can wait tomorrow, just do it tomorrow.
