Post by @stani • Hey
Whats the point of websites like Forbes where ads take half of the readers screen, multiple popups from data consent to subcription popups and glitchy scro
Comments
- forbes is pay to print. not worth reading. cringe.
- there's 0 point anymore lol
- Plus you can pay to be featured
- Feels broken for sure
- 100% agree
- Totally agree with you
However, don't you think that maybe in the future when it will be adopted on mass scaling and gas could probably won't be subsided by the protocol itself,it will be more problematic and one of the ways to overcome it would be advertising? (Hopefully there will be a different and creative solution..)
- sincerely... and mainly on cell phones...I close the link... I can't stand having to scroll through videos and advertisements to read what interests me... sometimes I keep the subject in my mind and try to research later.
- At least half the internet is like that…broken is a good word for it.
- A great apreciation
- I agree, websites with excessive ads and popups make it difficult to access content.
- They just want to earn money by views and advertisement, nothing more🤷🏼♂️
- Get commercial benefits from ads, too many ads can seriously hurt user experience
- Ads are very annoying
- Ads are very annoying
- Don't forget just plain old Google, sometimes half the first page after a search is just ads
- It's useless visiting sites like Forbes now, one might get attacked by bugs.
They're available to the highest bidder.
- Its the same thing all users wonder.. not only forbes, many other websites too.. more trash than content..
- **** ads!!! That's true!
- It is true that advertisements are everywhere and boring
- hate ads
- fuck sites like forbes
- Web 2.0 era media can only rely on the amount of advertisers to provide a source of profit, the lack of commonality of interests of media and content, if the era of Web3 by the free content to create interest in reading, the point of achieving profit will naturally be much richer
- Didn't see ads for a while because of uBlock 🏴☠️
- Forbes is a fullon ad-invader.
- How they will generate Income Sir?? But yes still ads ratio should be less
- Traditional users have no other choice, have limited access to news sources, and can only be constantly squeezed for the value of their attention and time. I believe this approach will be changed by Web3, where the focus should be on content that brings value to them even if that content requires an instant payment. web3 naturally solves these problems
- all hail Adblock Plus
- I completely agree! Hopefully, more websites will start to adopt a user-first approach to design and make the internet a better place for all.
- use an AD blocker
- Advertising is the basis for free social networks
- Thats why we need web3 overcome this
- Yeah the rich can't get enough and make us work for them without the least Reward...am really happy for web3
- Every time I see an ad pop up, I have the urge to close the app.
- I totally relate to this and feel the same way about YouTube.
- Yes, advertising is a cancer.
- We can treat it as our advantage and the key to success on Web3
- gm @stani.lens 🙌
thats why i used adblocker lol
- Lens is crypto, it does not have advertisements
- It's annoying to watch
That is why we need Lens and good content
- There's nothing the average person can do to change that, so that's probably the value of web3
- It is all the more embarassing as the half of articles are sponsored without any mention...
- Are you still using Chrome?
I find Brave Speedreader fixes most of these concerns
- yeah well i get used to it because i visit porn sites quite regularly so
- It's people who broke the site lol
- So we need web3
- capital can do that is to throw money at monopolizing customers, and then they can do whatever they want and squeeze them for profit
- Forbes is a website for identifying future frauds eg SBF and Theranos
- 10/10 for the profit
0/10 for user experience
- With the advancement of technology and the awakening of users, the old model will eventually be replaced and shifted to a more favorable direction for themselves, and Web3 is the future.
- Honestly, it's so annoying.
