As Lens grows over time, how do we keep Lens cypherpunk? Or is it possible? Or should we even care?
Comments
- We shouldn’t care too much
- We should
We can't
Maybe we shouldn't
Maybe we can
🤔
- I'm all for it, but I can't get behind *full* privacy. It's just perfect for evil people. You need to give up some degree of privacy if you want authorities to stop evil people, and I think the average person doesn't mind having their personal data public if it means stopping bad actions from taking place. People online in crypto act like it's horrible that people can't use the Internet privately, but no one cares, at all, and if you asked them "hey, would you rather your personal data be public, and have authorities stop bad people, or the opposite?" Pretty sure they'd say its fine. Cuz who cares if Meta has your Messager DM's if information being public stops horrible things from happening? If Ethereum in 20 years is what people dream it can be, and achieves full privacy that's applicable to any Dapp, then it'll be the Dark Web on steroids.
- There's always room for niche communities on the social graph 🤝
- Tl;dr - Forget ideologies, and tackle every issue as a unique challenge with its own unique solution :)
- I don't know what can be done about it, but one thing that seems pretty un-cypherpunk to me is the widespread use of closed source Lens apps. In fact, I'm posting from one of them right now.
- Lens can scale and remain cypherpunk if its moderation engine runs on properly decentralized consensus. This is doable I think.
- Just never stop to innovate :)
- everything is possible with Lens
- The only way would be to keep it from growing. Make it harder to join and then it would probably just die.
- We do need to care!!! For people who dont care!!!they will choose themselves if they wanna show everything… privacy is a right! Zero knowledge is a right!
- Should
- its in the hands of community! and that’s good!
- I agree. It's a good idea.
