Absolutely, agree. For me it was clear early on that large scale social media networks and small niche evolve to create very different outcomes. As for Threads they keep building on their pledge. For example this week they integrated the ability to do some kind of verification between mastodon and threads account. But even with this continuing of building on their promises, like you I am skeptical.
