Post by @stani • Hey
Should the Lens developer community be migrated from Telegram to own Orb club given Orb clubs will be soon composable across the Lens ecosystem?

- Voted “No”. We would lose realtime messaging, lose the organization from channels, lose the ability to search message content, lose the ability to easily form a breakout group, lose the ability to pin messages, and I’m not really sure that we should have to pay gas fees (or use “credits”) to ask for developer support.
Posts to communities also show up in the regular feeds for people that are likely uninterested in the group’s subject matter. This will increase the noise ratio and make developers generally less desirable to follow, from a social perspective. It will also discourage developers from posting.
I’m not, at all, convinced that message boards belong onchain, to begin with.
- I hate telegram so voted yes lol, but can see some of the downsides as mentioned by Paul below.
- Yes. I have no interest in ever using Telegram.
- No,
- Would be amazing. Will definitely join 🥰
- Would love to see some composable communities / clubs between apps
- yes! it will be easier to follow the state of lens directly in an ecosystem app instead of github
in addition, it's good to know that orb clubs are the future bases of the community standard module ^^
